Talking Microsoft outlook 2007
Hi all,

I use Microsoft Outlook 2007. When receiving emails I have no problems with their incoming size i.e. 2mb, 6mb, 10mb etc. However whenever I send an email with an attachment that is 1mb or larger it appears to be taking a very long time to send to the point I usually cancel the send. However unbeknown to me the person to whom I have been trying to send the email to has in fact received some 30, 40 or 50 copies of the email yet it sits in my outbox as if it has not been sent at all.

Totally confused with this one.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hampo

Hi Hampo,

Im a complete n00b on this too but have had some experience in the past. Is your Outlook connected via POP3 or exchange server?
Have you tried compressing your attachments by using winzip or winrar?

Hi Brock_UK

Thanks for responding it is greatly appreciated.

Connected via POP3. I was hoping to avoid zipping everything up everytime I mail out but will now have to head down that road no doubt.

This is a new problem to me and one that has me stumped well and truly.

Thanks for your efforts though.

Regards,

Hampo

Hi Hampo,

Im afriad having POP3 really doesnt help this situation as you are using a third party ISP to send the large emails. How far back do your emails go? Hvae to tried exporting them to a .pst file as a backup and then deleting as many emails as you can to free up some space? If not then I can gladly go through the steps with you

Once you have deleted some of your inbox, junk, sent and deleted items after you backed them up and it still doesnt work, there are plenty of compression softwares that I can recommend that can make sending emails with large attachements simple yet affective!

Regards,
