Okay---that makes sense. You see "liberals, lefties" etc are a little bit sensitive about having their patriotism questioned because they are against the fake war.
I meant to say Hussein--Al Qaeda

Again, comparing Germany to Iraq is another instance of the poor use of analogy. I remember at the beginning of the war, the right was comparing traffic fatalities in America to deaths in Iraq--(they seemed to have given that absurd one up). Germany, was a totally defeated country, facing the Soviets from the East. The population was pretty much pacified, and American soldiers were not getting blown up on a daily basis. Beyond that, Truman/Eisenhower had decided that the rebuilding of Germany was essential to the post-war plan of stopping Communism, and of course, assuring that the German market would re-enter the world economy. , Germany was attempting to conquer most of Europe. Hussein was contained. Germany had a fairly homogenous population, Iraq does not. Never compare the pacification of Germany to the chaos that is going on in Iraq. Makes absolutely no sense and in my mind is simplistic and without merit.

Yeah--thats what I meant, just as WarC meant that he was referring to the insurgency not the anti-war movement at home.

I was just watching TV news and they had a special report on how the insurgents have 20 or more attacks planned for the day Iraq signs their constitution (that's what it is they're working on I believe)......rocket...mortar.... and suicide bomb attacks....aimed of course at Americans in particular! Get us out of Iraq!!!

To be expected. They have a goal and they intend to persue it at all costs.

They will do the same here when they get the chance. Our borders are wide open, and some people complain about cameras in public places, profiling, etc. If some changes aren't made, expect it in our country.

Hi poochee....expected but nevertheless depressing as heck!

If the ACLU and other organizations keep on defending privacy rights involving the cameras....airport screening...racial profiling and the likes....then we'll all be at a higher risk....some people just refuse to open their eyes! Too many people think because nothing has happened to the U.S. since 9-11....we're all safe!

If you want to give up your liberty for false security, you go ahead; but I've already put my life on the line for my liberty and yours, and I'll do it again. I'm a free man, and free men die on their feet because they don't want to live on their knees. If the politicians and the corporatocracy change their foreign policies and stop ripping off the rest of the world, we won't have any enemies. Conslusion: we have enemies because of what we are doing elsewhere, and our so-called 'enemies' are trying to make us aware of what is going on elsewhere. Sarge can post pretty propaganda photos, but the soldiers all have guns, and if you don't do what they tell you to do, they shoot you. That's their job, a part of which was to seize Iraqi oil, and to establish bases in the Middle East to control the flow of oil. Our soldiers are not their to establish democracy, or General Garner? would still be there.
