I don't know your name or what district you represent.

Can you PM that to me?

Note: I promise not to share the info or debate you on issues that you come here to get away from.

CF and Rep
You hit the nail squarely.....
Quote:
As Rep may have tried to put it (in my perception) effort by members of society means P-A-R-E-N-T-S.
The most important element is missing out of our children's lives and that is Parental involvement. Many Parents do not participate in their kids lives to the degree that is necessary for some children. Every child is different and thus your degree of involvement will be different. IMHO children will do anything to please their parents and gain their attention. If parents or for that matter single parent do not pay attention to their children they will actively seek out attention which is sometimes negative if positive shows little results. Not to make excuses but many of todays parents are children themselves, maybe not by age but most certainly mindset. They feel that material is more important to emotional and cast the same shadow upon their children. Here Justin sit in front of this television, enjoy this video game I bought you, or here is 50 bucks go out and get yourself some nice clothes for school. Then they wonder why Justin is hanging out with Travis down the street who is always in trouble and decides to steal the items he wants instead of using the 50 you gave him.

Rep there is no easy answer for this problem and most certainly a new proposed law will not change this scenario. If parents refuse to involve themselves in there children's lives for whatever reason there is little proactive resolutions left to society and all becomes reactive.

Just my opinion.

Dave

TY - That word tends to make politicians cringe.

I found out today that there has been an open records request for all legislators records concerning cell phone calls. Somebody wants to know who we are calling.

My blood pressure went up.

Then I realized. I do not have a personal cell phone much less a state supplied one. hehe

Davey- also hit the nail on the head. Diagnose them with a vague mental problem so we can put them on drugs to keep them well behaved so we can work / play without them in our hair. I have a 5yr old girl & a four year old boy. I have stayed at home with them , but will probably go to work after both are in school.

My parents didn't leave me alone in the house till I was 17. I never went to someone's house that my parents didn't know the parents. And if we did something bad we were punished. ( ok, well, I'm spoiled) My Mom stayed home with us & I think we were better for it. I realize that some can't afford to do that, but a greater degree of attention needs to be payed to children by their parents.

You have parents afraid to say BOO to their kids, while the kids are beating the cr*p out of their parents.

And I have heard of the teen girl gangs ( just an over site on my part not mentioning them). There is nothing so vicious as a teen aged girl... Even if they are not physically violent, they are a special kind of mean....

I still have to wonder about what makes them snap???

Every now and then people ask me to post the website that offers the webcam view of the Wisconsin State Assembly in action.

Here it is: http://www.legis.state.wi.us/nav/asm.htm

Go to the, "Assembly Chamber Video".

Then: "Click here to view live video stream"

I feel I must caution you. Some people have been heard to say that watching a legislative body is as exciting as watching paint dry. You be the judge.

I will try to answer any questions you might have. Of course, that will depend upon my availability and time.
9:00 AM

In a few minutes will hold our opening ceremony. We will take the Pledge and hear a prayer and take a roll call.

We may have a few announcements and even dispense with a Bill or two.

Then, both parties will state that we wish to go to caucus.

Caucus proceedings will last anywhere from a couple of hours to many, many depending on the days calendar.

In open caucus we will discuss each proposed piece of legislation. Members serving on the committees that heard the bill will tell the rest of us what the bill does.

In closed caucus we will find out why the bill is before us and what the real intention of the bill is.

We will also order lunch, have short meetings with people and staff.

Eventually we will return to the floor to begin the floor debate.

This looks like it will be a long day. We will be debating a proposal dealing with live births of premature babies that take a "breath" or "breathes". Although not an abortion issue, believe me, anything to do with the preborn becomes an abortion issue.

Fully understand Candy. Bassetman probably has some old pictures that would be to your liking and more appropriate to the thread title. But out of legislative courtesy, I would hope he would not post them.
