Smile Study Ranks America's Most Fun Cities
I bet if we ladies went to Orange County it'd be #1 then! Word just hasn't gotten out about Mulder yet!

Study Uses Criteria Such As Sports Teams, City Recreation Budget

UPDATED: 8:04 a.m. EST November 4, 2003

When you think of fun cities, which do you think of? Las Vegas, New Orleans, maybe New York City?

Well, then you might be surprised to find out that in a new study Minneapolis was ranked the No. 1 most fun city in the country.

The study was done by the staff of the game Cranium, combined with Money magazine's staff, which turns out an annual study on the "Best Places to Live."

The criteria for the rankings included: number of sports teams, restaurants and dance performances, toy stores and city budget spent on recreation.

The Twin Cities have more theaters than Boston, more parks than Denver and more golfers per capita than any other city. With 10,000 lakes, it also has more coastline than California, Florida and Hawaii combined.

Where I live in Port Huron is fun! Lots to do here! We have McMorran Arena where our own hockey team the "Beacons" play and where they have free matinees every Saturday and Sunday. We have the Thomas Edison Inn walkway where you can walk along the river and see our two beautiful Blue Water Bridges. You can go over the bridge to Canada. We have the Birchwood Mall to hang out in! Not to mention every fast food and other restaurant imaginable on 24th St. and along M-25. We have the Port Huron Museum. You can watch the large freighters cruise up the St. Clair River. Fireworks every July. In the summer we have "Boat Night" and "Old Car Cruise" night. We have the Port Huron to Mackinac boat race every year. We have Toys R Us, KayBee Toys among others. We have Super-K, Meijer's, Walmart's, Target...all the major stores! We're Thomas Edison's hometown! We have plenty to do here in our little ol' town!

Now if we could just get the drugs and crimes out of South Park.....south end of Port Huron. But every day it seems the Port Huron Police are busy busting these drug dealers! Seems a lot of them come from Detroit! Go away all you criminal types! Ok enough! Take care. angel

San Jose, CA?!? You gotta be kidding. The downtown is a filthy, rundown dump. The rest is only businesses and apartment complexes ... urban sprawl archetype. Maybe the list is upside down?

^ Well that explains why it made the list then! Now just think if Orange County CA became your sister city!
