Or have we got nothing left except a mutual appreciation for fictional belgian detectives ?
You expect an ultimate solution from this group?

Palestinians donate son's kidney for Israeli boy
By Eric Silver
Published: 07 November 2005
The family of a 12-year-old Palestinian boy who was killed by Israeli soldiers have donated one of his kidneys to an Israeli boy. "It doesn't matter whether the recipient was a Jew or an Arab," they said.

Ahmed Khatib was shot on Thursday in the West Bank city of Jenin. He was rushed to the emergency room at Rambam hospital in Haifa, but died without recovering consciousness. The army said he had a toy gun, which soldiers mistook for a rifle. The family said he was with a group of boys waving toy guns to celebrate a festival.

Jamil Khatib, his uncle, said the boy's father, Ismail, agreed to the donation after he saw the young Israeli kidney patient. "He had a brother, Shawkat, who died several years ago from kidney failure. He understood what it was like. Shawkat needed a kidney, but he never got one."

The extended Khatib family was divided over the donation. Palestinian prisoners phoned and said they should not give the kidney to the enemy.

My Ultimate Solution

Wars are ended when one side (or more) ceases aggression. Since I am neither side, I can't solve the problem, but I can make a suggestion - stop killing each other.

What would happen if the Israelis ceased aggression?

My guess is: more bombings. This has happened in the past, and there is no reason to believe it won't in the future.

That means the other side needs to cease aggression. Is this possible? NO

A third solution: A group of separatist Palestinians (separate from the Hamas mainstream) needs to unite and Peacefully resist against Both sides.

The first person to kill one of these new Peacefull separatists(perhaps a union of both Israeli and Palestinian separatists - no. That wouldn't work because the group would not be pure - and therefore an easy target for radicals on both sides) has truly created a martyr, and in so doing, signed his own death certificate.

We would then see who wants a free Palestine, and who just enjoys killing. All Hamas supporters would be instant b@$turds.(sorry for the language but it is true - both in poetic license, and literally - no backing, no parentage)

I invite Other solutions please. Let's brainstorm.

Why not try banning weapons from all sides? A weapon free zone: the Middle East. Using stones is okay?

In order to ban the weapons, you would somehow have to take them away from those who already have them. This is very improbable. Even then, people are way more creative at making war than at making peace. They always seem to find a way to kill.

Poles and Polish Jews trapped in the Warsaw ghetto by the germans killed Germans with bricks and kitchen utensils - whatever was handy, in order to take weapons from the germans to use in killing more germans. In the ghetto, a single Polish life could cost a hundred german lives.

I think you would first have to provide an alternative to killing, and only then could you take the weapons away.

Thanks for the reminder as to what we have available!

Always happy to help! Remember General Molotov? How about the Boxer Rebellion?

People really do appear to be more creative in killing than they do in bringing about peace

We could begin by not issuing the bullets and the explosives.

It's a good beginning. But, surprise, most Palestinian suicide bombers are not issued their bombs. They acquire them through much more creative means.

Disarming the Indians was always an insurmountable task for the Brits, but somehow Ghandi was able to do it quickly and easily. I don't know about you, but I wield much more influence over my friends than I do over my enemies. Maybe that's a partial explanation of why Ghandi's friends(the UK's enemies) chose to disarm when Ghandi asked them to, but not when the UK asked them to.

If Palestinians asked the PLO and Hamas to disarm, we might get somewhere.

How about a "nice" story for a change. Not exactly nice the boy died, but wonderful of the parents to try to "bridge" relatioins.

Palestinian's organs go to Israel

The parents of a Palestinian boy killed by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank have donated his organs for use in Israel, in the hope of promoting peace.
Twelve-year-old Ahmed Ismail Khatib was shot in the town of Jenin by troops who mistook his toy gun for a real one.

His organs were transplanted into five Israeli children and a woman aged 58.

His father, Ismail, said saving lives was more important than religion, and added: "I feel that my son has entered the heart of every Israeli."

Never. I just thought it was a nice story for a change of pace. I'm so tired of awful stories.

To hear that one side is wiling "to give" to the oher. well .... that's cool.

On the contrary. I thought it was a wonderful and positive story.

Not really fair of you to paint me that color. My problem has always been the Palestinian leadership,
the terrorist organizations killing innocents in the name of the Palestinians,

and those few Palestinians who teach their children racial hatred and that violence against innocent Jews is okay, simply because they are Jews.

I thought I had made that pretty clear. I guess not.
