Question The End of the World?
Well, I was reading this, and I got to thinking of the implications this could have on some of the prophecies in the Book of Revelation. If this did happen, quite likely, IMO, it would be the beginning of the End Times. Furthermore if it happens in the time frame that this article sets up for it (next six months), than I would imagine that Bush is in fact, the Anti-Christ.

Why? Well, there's actually alot of evidence to support this if the End Times do happen as soon as I think they're going to. First and foremost, he's got this "Roadmap to Peace in the Middle East" thing going on, and if he succeeds at it, than I can very well imagine the Jews regarding him as the Messiah.

Secondly, it says that the Antichrist is going to be a religious leader. But in order for me to see the types of things happen that are prophecized, I would imagine that the Antichrist would have to have his fingers pretty deep into politics as well. In the past, this is why protestants always said that the Antichrist was going to be the Pope. Only, he doesn't have as much political power as he used to.

But, having been in the circle of some Conservative Protestant Christians, I have seen many of them regard him as a sort of religious leader, they hang on his every word, and go on and on about what a strong Christian man he is. So I could actually see him as the Antichrist from a religous aspect.

Futhermore, the closing down of the backroads so there aren't as many alternate routes out of the US, as well as the alarming trend toward the US becoming a sort of Police State. As well as some evidence that the higher up US officials knew about the attacks on 9/11, yet did nothing to stop them...setting it up so that they could get their fingers in the Middle East perhaps?

This is all just speculation of course, I just wanted to hear perhaps the opinions of some of the other people who believe that the End Times are going to happen in accordance with the Christian Bible's prophecies.

A Speculating Servant

Servant of Eru......I think you're right. You have hit upon something very profound. I suggest that you go out and buy a couple or three years worth of canned spam, a big box of toilet paper and stick deodorant. Then head out to the woods of Montana (I understand that there is a little shack available only occupied by one previous owner who now resides at state expense, ask combsdon he can give directions.) Come back in three years and see if we are still here.

he also builds a temple for the muslims and the jews, i have seen this in many translations. and untill the dome of the rock (or what islamic people call it in isreal) and the wailing wall is destroyed there is no need to build a new one. any if they start building a new temple. i am sure the quality of the construct that the jews would want it will take a couple of years. you most likely will pass from old age before any of this happens.

SoE,

Perhaps you would be better off to ponder your own end?
With all the prophecies of the last 2000 years, the earth and it's residents still exist in the same general manor.

It was just a thought. There's no way to predict the future until after it happens. But it is fun to speculate.

Yes, it is fun. I love Eschotology but it encompasses so much that its hard to get a good grasp of it. The premillenialists put forth a very good argument but the Amillenialists are convincing too! I have friends on both sides of the coin. (I am in the Premil camp, but I still waver sometimes when the Amil's get ahold of me.)

Hi Jack

Sorry.

Eschalotogy= Study of end time events.

Premillenialism= Those who believe scripture prophecy points to a rapture, 7 year tribulation, after which Christ will return to set up a literal one thousand-year kingdom, one final uprising at the end of that then the judgement of all.

Amillenialism= Those who believe scripture points to Christ's return immediately followed by judgment of all, New Heavens, New Earth. No rapture, no tribulation, no 1000 yr millenial kingdom.

also...in defense of bible prophecy...about 30% of the bible is prophecy. In the OT there were 100 prophecies alone regarding Christ that were fulfilled (which is why so many people believed during His time...because they saw those prophecies fulfilled)

So, being a christian...when you look at the prophecy yet to come...you tend to want to see if you can make heads or tails of it. It is fun but your Eschotoligical view has no bearing on whether or not one is "right with God" Although there are always those who will disagree and insist that what you believe about the end times is essential to salvation.
