Bush Calls Speaks Out On Gay Marriages

You can say what you want but Bush has called for a Constitutional Amendment to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

Amen

Now before anyone reads what I am going to type, lets get some facts about me out of the way:
1. Heterosexual male.
2.Republican-moderate

First all, with all the things we have going on in the world and in our country, for all the unemployment issues, wars on foreign soils, acts of crimes, etc., we have our President focusing on this. Let me say this out loud:
MR. PRESIDENT, YOU WILL LOSE THIS NEXT ELECTION BECAUSE OF STUPID THINGS LIKE THIS BECAUSE THERE IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT. FOCUS.

As far as a constitutional amanedment, folks, this is political talk for nothing will change and it will be all your fault. For a constitutional amendment to take place we will have to go through a huge process, outlined here, http://www.usconstitution.net/constam.html
What it is essentially saying is that we will let the voters decide this, thus eliminating any politicians from getting their hands dirty by voting, knowing that the electorate will grow bored with this quickly, or , a campaign will go underway by both sides, but not enough states will pass it, not to mention that eventually the courts will decide on the validity of marriages. I would probably guess a seperation of church and state issue, and if not, then a 14th amendment challenge( equal protectionof the law).
But lets really get down to something, I don't vote for my political leaders as moral guardians for me. How can they represent my morals if I don't know thiers? Maybe they are bigger freaks than me, maybe I am a bigger freak than them, who knows, but I do not someone else making a moral decision for me.
What is the problem with gays being married? Let them get hit with the marriage penalty just like everyone else? Why should we be concerned? Are we theis concerned about protecting the sanctity of heterosexual marriages, which have a high divorce rate to begin with, that we have to hide behind some blind fallacy that two people, adults, over the age of 18, cannot make a decision for themselves in regard to relationships? What next, a ban on marraiges if they are not Judeo-Christian?
Forget a ban gay-marriages, worry about your own, not anyone else's. Here's a novel idea, ban all marriages before the age of 25. Let kids gro up and mature abit before we let them decide if this is the right person for them and they take the plunge.

Infidel Kast - Hmmmmm!

Infidel, not sure I feel comfortable about that!

Infidel Kast - In fidel Kast - In Fidel Cast ro - In Fidel Castro. Fidel Castro? Now just hold on a minute!

You aren't Cuban by any chance are you IK?

Good post though, especially the bit about 25 years old, and yes I really do mean that. The first spark of intelligence I showed was when at 25 years old I was able to honestly acknowledge how little I knew about life and I have been learning from those more experienced than myself ever since. Waiting until a mildly mature age to make life lasting decisions is no bad thing IMHO.

Finally someone has been able to break my secret. Yes, infidel_kast is short for infidel_kastro, which is an e-mail of mine(fidelcastro@yahoo.com was already taken), but TSG didn't allow that many characters. Not Cuban, Spanish/Mexican, and it stems from my friends and I sending anonymous e-mails to our college adminstrators pointing out flaws in the school. We didn't want to get caught, so these were our "revolutionary" accounts.

There are members in the Wisconsin state legislature about to propose a constitutional amendment as well.

This is nothing more than one in a series of hot button issues brought forward to hide issues that may have great impact upon our citizens.

I love explaining to my constituents who brings the hot issues forth, my opinion on why they do so and the issues we ignore as we fight about them.

I cannot place my explanations on a bumper sticker, or in a 30 second radio ad. But, if I have a couple of minutes I can get heads nodding in agreement.

I will tell this story each and every day from now til November 2nd. And be proud to do so.

If you hurry you can watch Rosie O'Donnell get married to her companion of many years on live TV.
