Calif. police car chases
A Republican lawmaker, dismayed by a police chase that ended in the death of a teenage girl from his Northern California district, wants to make police more accountable for high-speed pursuits....
...Police and their lobbyists are furious about the measure and have vowed to kill it.
rest at http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...=la-home-local

Now the police do go on to explain their position cause the bill opens them up to civil suit, but I sometimes think that the guiding hand are the movie makers who would be loose their beloved car chases
