cheney thread
I think this dude deserves his own thread.
1.VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY

Cheney received five student and marriage deferments of service during the war. He received his first student deferment in 1963, while enrolled at Casper College in Wyoming. His status was renewed twice when he was an undergraduate at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

After graduating in 1965, Cheney became a graduate student in the fall and obtained another deferment. He received a deferment under a provision for parents in 1966, when his wife, Lynne, became pregnant.

Cheney told The Washington Post in 1989, ``I had other priorities in the '60s than military service. ... I don't regret the decisions I made. I complied fully with all the requirements of the statutes, registered with the draft when I turned 18. Had I been drafted, I would have been happy to serve.'' http://www.guardian.co.uk/uslatest/s...028360,00.html

And he is arrogant beyond description- Can you imagine Gore (serving under Clinton) refusing to hand over documents to the GAO and then telling them with a straight face to "get over it"?

Or if he or clinton had said:
I had other priorities in the '60s than military service. ... I don't regret the decisions I made.

pls - they are probably more worried that Cheney will die and GWB will finally have to step up to the plate, remove his puppet strings and strive to be the man he thinks he is.

Spelling police - routine stop.

Cheney, not Chaney.

You won't be surprised to know that I like him.
I think he was a better Defense Secretary than Rumsfeld, (though I also like Rummy) and I have no issues with his Vice Presidency.

Hey..... Did you guys give up on Bushes war record and now want to start in on Cheney? At least he used legal deferment means at the time to get out of the draft! Seems Billy C. decided border hopping was better! Look Kerry defended Clinton's border crossing so why is Cheney's multiple deferments such an issue?

Now for some meat........
I kind of giggled when I heard about this article from one of the most ultra liberal rags in the States. Wouldn't be a bad idea though if you could bring back Edwards! At least we would have a choice I would consider!

No Paul it is not a Rush article..........

Article

I always felt that Mr Bush had little understanding of what he did --or why, but Mr Cheney?, he is an arrogant crook and a smart one. No excuse for him.
Also regarding spelling ---Cheney is spelled a**hole by most, here & around the world.

Well, since you mentioned it--no dinner, however I read that he likes duck hunting with a supreme court judge. Maybe a hunting trip would be constructive!!.

And what's up with that smirk that's always on his face? Don't you just want to wipe it off his puss with a backhand *******?

Edited above comment!!
Not appropriate slickoe so don't use comment of that nature again!
