Lightbulb Our Other problems
one of the things that really bugs me is the Fact that most of our Nation's other problems are put on the back burner, Such as repealing this tax break for the rich, and countless other problems like health care and insurance, caps on lawsuits ect.

It seems that what gets the most attention is what is happeneing in Iraq

It seems to me that a president can skate right through most of the other problems of our nation by being in war.

As my quote says, we must hold our president accountable for all of it as we should congress to the FBI. War should never stop us from critisizing the actions of a bad government. We are the true power of America, not our Government or the secret service or! We are their rulers! The power is trully in the people, but most do not realize that.

We have alot of real problems here and we must also pay attention to these problems as well. Not just on the politicians and war?

Well, fishy, I'm not qualified to comment on domestic American politics, but isn't the current situation similar to Nixon 30 years ago? Didn't he have troubles at home but did well on the international scene? Correct me if I'm wrong; I'm just trying to draw a very general parallel, not implying that just because Tricky Dick was a crook that Mr Bush is.

I don't mind if Canadians comment on this Nation's problems Jim
I think mutual respect is usually in order

We have alot of real problems right now, But I see almost everyone is soley focused on Iraq and the war on terror

That is wrong! Are we so heavily conditioned and blind to our other woes?

Being a good president does not involve just being good at foreign policy but stinking in domestic affairs, I see this lack of addressing alot of other real issues, due to the fact that we are war as a real problem, I feel that if we are in war or not, we must hold our Government accountable for ALL of their actions. We can repeal this tax bull for the rich ect. ect. we just need to turn away from the total attention to the war in Iraq and terrorism.

Our country and it's people are suffering dearly from one of the worst Goverments in the history of the U.S.

This has nothing to do with patriotism to speak out against the injustices of a bad government for we are even more patriotic then the goverment that is ruining our nation in so many ways.

I can only view America from without. Is it normal to think of domestic affairs as a matter of patriotism ("...This has nothing to do with patriotism to speak out against the injustices of a bad government...") or is this just common now because of all the terrorism focus of the last few years? Canadians laugh (in a friendly way) at all of the American "flag waving". We Canadian are way more laid back, I guess. We never mention patriotism and hardly anybody flies a flag. We (the provinces) just ***** at the Federal government all the time, no matter how good or bad off we are. Whining at Ottawa is kind of a national sport!

Well, it is good to hear the views of our nation from other countrys, again mutual respect weighs heavily

We have a huge right called freedom of speech

We will always wave our flags, patriotism of America is great and good. But it is our love for America and not our Government.

We are proud to be americans and stand for many good things. Too many foreigners look at a bad form of government as the real America. It is not, Our hearts are strong and our understanding of what is right and wrong in this world is a good thing.

So patriotism is for the love of our nation and what it stands for first and foremost.

pride and patriotism of your own country is proper, I just see alot of countrys deathly afraid to speak out against the problems in their own country in fear of death or whatever. So freedom of speech reigns supreme and we will speak out always against what we believe is right or wrong with this nation.

it is not whining to say we dislike a certain action of our government! That is nonsense, and our government loves that concept.

It is excersizing our rights as americans to speak out.

If someone stole your wallet would you be whining if you took action to get it back?

I don't think so

See, We are becoming fearfull of our own government

this is wrong and should always be the other way around. Our Government should fear pissing off the American People. We could literally take these high ups along with the FBI ect and physically stick them all on an island and make them eat their bombs and intimidation. we should have kicked the IRS's *** a long time ago. Our freedom of speech enforces this. In a democracy (what's left of it) the power is in the people and we have the power to take anyone out of office. So before our Government becomes too high and mighty we must remind them who is boss here! Not them! We are!

We could have this tax rip off for the rich repealed, ect. ect.

and we could tell our government, you touch one more of our rights under the constituion for the purpose of greed or fear and we will take you out!
Quit selling out ect.!

So wake up folks and realize that our government is only our yes men and they do what we say! Not the other way around

THE POWER IS IN THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA and all of the terrorist acts and national security bull will not change that everrrrrrrrrrr!

be very afraid if America's people get really sick of all of this, time to take out the trash would be a reality.

So you call it whining, I will call it power, power in the peoples of this great land, to hell with being submissive.

The rich got tax cuts? I thought I got a tax cut, along with everybody else -- this is political rhetoric used to support one party's ideology -- not supported by hard numbers.
