Battlefiled Experience
How many in this forum who support Bush in Iraq have ever served on a battle field?

IK
Instead of smear why don't you tell us of your military experience if at all.
I have actually discussed my lack of it

Schwartz--besides Sarge and maybe one or two others--this is one of the greatest collection of Chicken Hawks in America--and Infidel is one of them! I suspect that any of them had seen real action, they wouldn't be waving the flag and marching to Baghdad so fast.

Voting for Bush because I believe that actually killing the enemy is the correct course of action in a war.

You're welcome...so, I told....do tell us of your military experience.

BTW: I'm not really sorry that I served during a time of relative peace, but if there had been a war there can be no question that I was poised not only to go, but to go first. Look up 11th ACR sometime. They were a front-line unit defending the Fulda Pass...their life expectancy was a few hours if the Russians had invaded. I was assigned to set up their field communications for a year.

I have also. But according to Sligo, personal information has no bearing on message boards, but I will anyway.
Having graduated from college, I looked at going into the naval reserves. Unhappy with the fact that they would not offer me a commission or an intelligence position, I then explored the Army reserves, who offered me a commission and an intelligence position after seeing my pre-ASVAB scores.
Unfortunately, if I were to join, i would be unable to have full-custody of my daughter, something that I would like to pursue if I have to without any restrictions. I then went to the National Guard, who embraced not only myself, but my desire to have cuistody of my daughter, the provisions are already in place, and they offerred a commission and intelligence.
I was ready to sign my papers, when I had to do some strong soul searching. I had no problems signing, even during a time of conflict, I felt it more important for me to try to give my daughter more security, but the problem I was facing is that I have anosmia, and whether that would jeopardize people I was serving with. So I decided that although I could probably pass the medical tests, i doubt they test for it, but if it were discovered alter, i would possibly be in a lot of trouble, not to mention that if we were in a combat situation, it could be a liablitly.

Anyway, this is still a worthless thread. Its just another attempt by Sligo to bash Bush, which he does all the time, so worthless.

OK, I'll vote for Bush.
And trust me, you have yet to make an argument that hit anywhere close to home.

So you didn't serve--why the long drawn out explanation--many people left families behind--------I served with the 173 Airborne Brigade--I saw action on the border wher Laos, Cambodia, and VIetnam meet. I saw many of my brothers die in November of 67 in one of the worst days for us in Nam.

My point, kast, was that the people who sent our kids over to Iraq, and their supporters have no idea what a battlefield looks like let alone what its like to be put in harms way----That is why I call them chicken hawks!

I believe it has been called "other priorities"
Hey IK you could have told the guard of your problem instead of your "soul searching" and let them decide. I bet a nickle there was a space on the medical form "other illnesses" where you could have stated your problem.
Or it is unclear from your story tell them and become 4F?

You can call them anything you want, but you are assuming that our elected leaders flippantly send soldiers into combat. Who are you to decide that serving in conmbat suddenly makes you an expert at all things warfare. OK, you saw combat, heres a pat on the back and and a hearty handshake, but your poll is really just a self-serving mechanism for you to bash Bush.
Lets say that Bush HAD served in combat, and he still maintained the course of action, would this really change anything, except maybe your point-of view.
There have been may Presidents, "12 presidents did not serve in the military---John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Van Buren, Polk, , Taft, Wilson, Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, FDR and Clinton. Cleveland actually paid someone to fight in his place during the Civil War which was legal and not all that unusual at the time--a kind of pay as you go family deferment)."
