photos from Iraq?
I'm doing my Masters thesis on private military firms (Halliburton, Blackwater, DynCorp, etc) in Iraq and am looking for a great photo from there to use on my thesis cover. Does anyone out there have a photo they are willing to let me use? I can't offer you money, as I'm still a student, but I'll give you a credit in my thesis.

thanks!

Welcome military girl, and good luck with your thesis! I'm sure there are many here who would like to hear your views on it. I cannot help you with a picture, perhaps paveFE or sarge will be able to.

Frankly, I’d like to see the government get out of war altogether and leave the whole feud to private industry.

MilGirl: Have you seen my thread, "Mercenaries in Iraq" and are you familiar with the works of P.W. Singer? For example, there is "Peacekeepers Inc."

The books and articles by Singer are well worth reading.

Welcome to TSG!

I have a friend who spent a year there, and I think he may be able to give you some good pics. I'll get him to look at this in a day or two if I can.

Hi!

Thanks for all the responses and suggestions. Singer's work on the topic of private military firms is excellent (he figures heavily into my thesis); if anyone out there is looking for a quick introduction to the topic, I recommend his salon.com articles from earlier this year. I'll check out the thread you recommended.

I'm currently based in the UK but am American.

thanks again!
