Smile Why I Will Vote for Bush in November
Rather than debate why or why I shouldnt vote for Bush, I'm just going to explain my position and leave it at that. Politics are not my forte'...my passion will always be for God first. But still...sometimes you gotta stand up for other things as well!

First of all, I used to be a Democrat. Then I finally moved to the Repulican side once I came to know the Lord as my personal Savior. My reason for becoming Republican was for the simple fact that the Republican party caters to the issues that are personally important to me, Abortion and the right to life for unborn children, being just one of the many. Someone has to defend the right to life and anyone who supports it is a-ok in my book! I cant say the same thing for the Democrats! And if nothing else...Kerry wouldnt get my vote for that very reason...that he wont get off the fence about abortion. I find it outrageous that he admits it is wrong because of his catholic beliefs but that he can support in a legal way. He has sold his values for a vote, imo.

I have reservations about Bush and used to consider him the "lesser of two evils". But my thinking has evolved since then (see? I really can change my mind when presented with proper evidence, so there!) Now I feel that I can support him in a way that doesnt violate my conscience. And in the last couple of years, I have found myself agreeing with Bush's stand on the issues even more so than the issues of many other Republicans.

I can honestly say that I like George Bush as a person. I think he is a man of integrity and I believe he truly tries to honor God in his personal life and in the decisions he makes for our country. His decision to go to war can be defended because it is a just war. You may not agree with it but according to scripture, the government's responsibility is to care for the downtrodden and to punish those who trod on those downtrodden. I really think that played on his heart while he weighed his options. And the other side's terror-tactics have made it hard to hang tough. Doing what was neccessary might have turned out harder than he thought it would be but at least he is committed to finishing the job. I admire that!

As far as his tax plan (which to my understanding is another reason so many people hate him) ...I dont know much about such things but it appears to me that he really does believe in the "trickle down theory" and thats what guides his choices in that area. I dont have the time to fully look into it so I cant say for sure. I still trust his integrity in that area and I dont believe he is showing favoritism or anything like that!

well thats the gist of it, in my own thread and it has nothing to do with suckin' up to any of ya so stick that in yer pipe and smoke it!

So have at it!

At the risk of sounding like a suck up, good for you Val. You've reviewed the choices and made a decision based upon the issues which are important to you. Can't fault anyone for that.

Val! You go girl! Many of the reasons you'll vote for Bush are reasons I will vote against him. Our votes are our perogatives and we will live with them regardless of which side is right in our eyes. There is no one person or political party that will destroy this country - that is up to the citizens as a whole, not our leaders. As an old coot, I've decided no one should serve more than one term - don't give them time to get crooked beyond redemption!

You're going to get attacked unmercifully for stating your opinion, but then you're used to it! In fact, I might have given you your best training!

Valley, I'm interested in pro life people. Tell, me, if Rudy Giuliani was running for President would you vote for him even though he is pro-choice? Arnold Schwartzeneger, George Patiki etc???????

Did you hear the one about the Presidents Daughters and the traveling salesman?..........
I no longer take anyone here with much seriousness, mostly my self, but I do admire yours and everyone else's tenacity to stand up for what they believe, no matter how right or wrong I perceive them to be. I will be glad to see this election over and done with so I can get into bashing whomever wins - I think they both suck!

It depends...if both parties were pro-life then I'd have no choice but to vote for whoever I'd rather see in office based on their stand on the other issues. But I wouldnt refuse to vote because they were pro-choice. I'd pray for change and make the best choice that were available to me at the time.
