Do you think he had the right?

In my opinion it's up to the individual who is taking the medication not up to the pharmasist.

I do not see any problem with it. I do wonder is why he stocks birth control pills if he doesn't feel comfortable with the idea. It would be like refusing to sell guns on moral grounds, but still having them in stock. A separate question altogether is why he considers providing the birth control pill to be a sin of some sort (keep in mind, I have not idea how the things actually work).

Since the pill can be prescribed as a means to control irregular menstrual cycles and even acne, could be the answer to the question why he had them in stock.

Well for being Catholic birth control of any kind is a sin.

The pharmacist did have the right to say and do whatever he wants, just like the customer has the right to complain and the pharmacy director has the right to fire the pharmacist. But, most of all, the patient has the right of confidentiality. If she did not want to tell the pharmacist why her doctor prescribed the medication, she does not have to.

If the pharmacist is uneasy about giving out prescribed birth control unless he's sure that it's not for birth control, then maybe he needs to bring that up with his supervisor instead of the customer. No one wants to go to the store or pharmacy to be "harrassed".

Why the hell would anyone become a pharmacist if they had moral convictions that wouldn't allow them to fill certain prescriptions? They guy should be fired and have his license pulled.

He should be fired and his license revoked.

It wasn't as though he refused the medication on profesional grounds, ie, there may have been a conflict with other meds she was taking, or she was going through pills too fast...

...this was birth control, and while he is able to practice any religion he chooses, he DOES NOT have the right to force his beliefs upon others.

I know that! I wasn't saying for this specific prescription, but when it comes to the pharmacists job, those are the only real grounds one has to refuse filling a script.
