War, what is it good for ?
Contrary to what you read or see, war is neither glamorous nor fun.

There are no winners, only losers.

There are no good wars, with the following exceptions:

1) the American Revolution,
2) World War II,
3) and the Star Wars Trilogy.

If you'd like to learn more about war, there's lots of books in your local library, many of them with cool gory pictures.

Once you get past the political rhetoric and reasons for war you uncover the fact war is hell on earth where many die for another's insanity. Whether it was Hitler, Suddam, Osama, or even political systems such as communism, war remains the same! People die and countries are torn apart!
The old 70's anti-war song "War" explained it quite well.........
Here are the lyrics.......

War
By Edwin Starr

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y'all

War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives

War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives

I said, war, huh
Good God, y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It's an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y'all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it's got one friend
That's the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can't give life
It can only take it away

Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's got to be a better way

Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it

War, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing

Yup--the 100,000 innocent Iraqis who died are just victims in the war against terror. If things continue the way they are going we should eclipse Sadaam's 2-300,000 killed.

I wouldn't go so far as using the tag "Innocent" for all the Iraqi deaths said to have occurred. Throwing out an approximate number of 100,000 and tagging it as Innocent surely is misleading but maybe intended to be so!
I am sure there is a great number of them but one must also keep in mind the terrorists have killed a great deal of Iraqi's, also many of those deaths were soldiers\insurgents, and many I am sure are from US bombings.
But again what is the make-up of those approximate numbers!
To me one Innocent Civilian is to many.

DAvey---The terrorists have killed manyof them but the reason they have killed many of them is directly linked to our misconceived invasion---I said "Business" tongue and cheek.

Well I guess that is where you and I disagree! The terrorists really do not care who they kill, where they kill them, or how many they kill. They were killing innocents before the Iraq invasion and they will continue to kill after the Iraq liberation. Their quest is not Iraqi driven but Iraqi focused since we are there!
If that were true then how do you explain the killing of innocents by terrorists in many other countries some of which have nothing to do with Iraq?

Dave

Have to leave for work but will catch up later!

War, what is it good for ?
Under the Bush administration, a wild attempt to prod the sagging economy, and turning into a dismal failure.
