Poll: Should the GD word be filtered at TSG?
As you all know we have filters that censor words like the S word and the F word etc.... I have noticed that the word "goddamn" is not filtered. Personally I find this to be the most offensive of any curse word. What do the rest of you think? Should this word also be filtered?

I agree....filter it! But I'm not sure why they need to filter the "B' word, the 7 letter word that ends in a "D"....it's my favorite word to describe terrorists!

I would guess that people's dislike of the word is because of their religious beliefs, that damning isn't something god does, rather than it being an offensive word. I personally do not see it as an offensive word.

I have the feeling there are a lot of religious persons both as members and visitors who don't appreciate the name God being said in vain. I do like your honesty though Gibby!

I don't think anyone outside the States would find it offensive.

Neither would these be considered so.

Good Lord

My God

God almighty

Christ

So - must be a regional thing - it and the above if used in the proper context should be followed by an exclamation mark !!!!!

It is a very offensive word, but I think you should also filter such offensive words as Republican or GW Bush

on a technical note it would be almost impossibel to filter due to the way it is written many people would make it into 2 words and you can't filter god or damn

personally I don't find it offensive but if people do then try to filter it, but where do you stop

lots of words or phrases are offensive to some people for example any muslims or jews would find it offensive to have any references to pigs or swine do we filter all those references out

Some good points but I also find the GD word, when used, usually in very poor taste.
