How Can They Freakin Call California For Kerry...
DAMN...
2 minutes after the polls close NBC calls California for Kerry???

Give me a freakin break!!!
As of 9:30 PM PST, with only 11% of princincts reporting...

IT'S LESS THAN 5 PERCENT!!!!!

Give me a break!
I think California, if the trend shifts, can shock Kerry & change the election!

Then again, if California would change from an "All Or Nothing" state to 1 electorial vote per congressional district...you'd see a major swing!!! With the exception of Los Angeles & San Francisco...the rest of the state is freakin RED!!!

Kerry wins big in California
MICHAEL R. BLOOD, Associated Press Writer

Tuesday, November 2, 2004

(11-02) 23:51 PST LOS ANGELES (AP) --

Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry scored a decisive victory in California Tuesday, drawing support from a broad spectrum of voters to claim the nation's largest haul of electoral votes.

The lopsided win for the Massachusetts senator was no surprise. Kerry held a commanding edge over President Bush in polls throughout the campaign, and the candidates largely bypassed California for battlegrounds elsewhere.

Returns from absentee ballots and 56 percent of precincts gave Kerry 53 percent of the vote and Bush 45 percent.

"I don't think anyone thought we had a high likelihood of winning," said state Republican Chairman Duf Sundheim.

Bush lost the state by double digits in 2000 and the last Republican to carry California was his father, George H.W. Bush, in 1988.

In a state where Democrats dominate, voters chose a fresh start instead of the Republican incumbent.

"Californians are overwhelmingly against the war in Iraq. On the social issues, abortion, gay rights ... (Bush) is out of step," said Matthew Streb, a political scientist at Loyola Marymount University.

Kerry carried a majority of voters across the demographic landscape, according to a statistical analysis of voter interviews conducted for the AP by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International.

Women favored Kerry by a 3-2 edge, and the senator swept black, Hispanic and Asian voters by significant margins. One in five voters who identified themselves as conservatives voted for Kerry, as did about three-fifths of independent voters.

Bush's advantages were among Christian voters, white men and the wealthiest tier of Californians, according to the exit poll.

"California is an electorate that is very receptive to Democratic issues," said Los Angeles City Councilman Antonio Villaraigosa, one of Kerry's national campaign co-chairmen.

HA! Even though I couldn't vote, I convinced two of those people to vote. I'm a very convincing person....especially when people know less than me.

While in the CA hills this past week north of Sacramento, towards Chester and then to Burney, over to Fortuna via Redding, south towards the Ft. Bragg area, and back to Sacramento via Napa country [~960 miles], I kept a rough running tally of Bush and Kerry signs... Bush easily had a 2:1 ratio, at least in these areas where signs were seen.
