* Strictly an observation here, no slights or invidious comparisons meant:
eBay seems to have gone heavily to the Brits and US Asians, at least with what I buy (Canon EOS cameras & equipment) and barebones computers, Motherboards and cases. I find I have to more often than not, send an email for clarifications in that many of them haven't quite mastered English.
Worse is the outrageous practices by many of charging low on their "Buy It Now" price but socking it to you on S&H. Them I don't buy from.
I don't mind your getting a fair price for your merchandise, but charge me $19.99 for a $4.99 item I need? Pi$$ off Jack!
* Immature users (Did I already say that?)
* Those who don't write much on TSG but post long articles (which I usually don't read)
(They know who they are)

Hates.
The fact that don't matter what facts stare you in the face theres always some crackpot site that sees it another way, and.....is almost believable, supporting the the saying "theres a thin line between genius and insanity.(did man really walk on the moon)
Chat lines that exploit the younger generation and the perverts that use them.

Likes.
The friends I've made across the world.

As you can see from my post count I've not been here long but from what I've read I think I know who you mean.

The Internet's roots trace back to 1961 when Leonard Kleinrock at MIT first published his paper on packet switching theory. Which directly lead to the creation of ARPANET.

Good grief, that took long enough to get a bite.

EdGreene, if you navigate to the fruit machine on guimp, that has sound.

For pros & cons (mostly cons actually), try http://www.bordergatewayprotocol.net...ernet_history/
