Gay Penguins
Who would prohibit these wonderful penguins the right to marry? I say only a Scrooge of the Right Wing!

Researchers find gay penguins in Japanese aquariums: report

Sat Dec 25, 1:31 AM ET

TOKYO (AFP) - Researchers have found a number of same-sex pairs of penguins at aquariums in Japan, with an imbalance between the numbers of male and female birds suspected to be the cause, a report said.

A research group led by Keisuke Ueda, professor of behavioral ecology at Rikkyo University in Tokyo, found about 20 same-sex pairs at 16 major aquariums and zoos, Kyodo news agency said.

Penguins in captivity "may be more likely to form same-sex pairs" due to the difficulty of finding partners of the opposite sex because breeding facilities in Japan only have an average of 20 birds, the agency quoted Ueda as saying.

It is not known if the frequency of homosexuality is higher than in the wild, where telling the sexes apart is tough, he said.

Many of the gay male pairs and two of the female pairs were seen performing mounting behavior, it said.

Ueda was not available for comment on the report

It must get hard for you to find a political objective in everything you see.

I doubt the penguins are homosexual. They're probably just good buddies. Mounting behavior? Probably just a wrestling match, you know, male bonding. For crying out loud, put any species in a cage for life and there's bound to be aberrant behavior. I bet there's a higher incidence of aberrant behavior in the typical human prison than in the typical zoo.

Perfectly good english words have been stigmatized by association with aberrant sexual behavior. Queer, gay, fruit, you used to be able to use these words in a sentence without people poking their tongues into their cheeks and looking askance.

What I love about this forum is the level of expertise one finds among the posters. LUcky, my hat is off to you---although I do think the penguins are very gay and that they want to get married!

How romantic. These 2 just wanted to get married. They squabbled a bit as to who got to wear the dress.

Lucystrike, I'm from Michigan and used those 3 descriptive words until I migrated to California. I remember the first party I went to, and referred to it later as a very gay party. The word got back to me that the host said I was bad mouthing him! I find the penquin story amusing.

I choose to wait for a bird experts comment.
Wet Chicken is roosting somewhere and should be able to explain this.
I think it would take a chicken, to get into the head of a penguin. >f

"Gay animals are actually quite common. Not chickens though ".
I hesitate to argue with a Chicken Man but I have found another source--- a heavenly source that proves gay chickens are a reality.
This mans opinion is , well, you know , 'HIS" --"THE BOSSES" opinion. >f
Why did the chicken cross the road?
JERRY FALWELL

Because the chicken was gay! Isn't it obvious? Can't you people see the plain truth in front of your face? The chicken was going to the "other side." That's what "they" call it-the "other side." Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And, if you eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless phrases like "the other side." That chicken should not be free to cross the road. It's as plain and simple as that.
