Typical right winger Blatantly abuse U.S. copyright laws and then try to weasel out of the responsibility that comes along with it

From their website:

Quote:
We are flattered to receive Rall's "cease and desist" notice since he has made no such demand to "American Traitor" where the same photo is posted today.
Gee it's amazing how these right wingers have such psychic powers and know exactly what this Rall did or did not do

And apparently your psychic (err...psychotic?) powers know exactly if they did or did not attempt to contact "American Traitor" to learn if or if not a cease and desist letter had been receieved by them as well...or not.

Oh come on now... these are right wingers we are talking about here... if they had any REAL facts to post they would have posted them at least 5 times in a row, in that one sentence

Umm...they did...point out the FACTS:

Quote:
Even if the photo is copyrighted, its use in FrontPageMagazine.com appears to qualify as a fair use. The nature and purpose of the use is news reporting and commentary in an Internet publication for nonprofit educational purposes. The very nature of a "publicity photo" suggests that it is ordinarily intended to be used without obtaining permission in advance. Moreover, it does not appear that the effect of the use would be to decrease the value of the photo, which appears to have been widely circulated in many sources. Accordingly, we believe a court would find this use of the photo to be "fair" under Section 107 of the Copyright Law.

Chicken, do you only flap about w/ one wing, a left wing? Is this why sometimes you speak as if you are in a twisted, dazed, and confused state?

Just kidding... sortof...

Seriously, why make this a "left versus right wing" battle, there's no need for that. It really just boils down to that this Rall guy, the one w/ such a nice, respectful way of speaking about dead people , had a fit when someone else used his image, an image that is in the public domain as he is a public figure speaking and writing to and with the public. If all the guy can do is critisize and complain about issues, well, then the guy is a fool, a jerk, and a waste of band width. This is the same person who had the sweet disposition to call Condi Rice [love her or hate her &/or her policies, I don't care, she is still a human, right?] a derogitory term?

linskyjack, I hope you don't think that I'm "whining about liberals" - I don't control the country, I'm not right-wing, I'm not left-wing. I'm just a foolish mortal that lives in this country, loves what potential there is, and hates to see people just piss on things in a negative manner w/o being considerate, passionate, and/or thoughtful. I didn't like many of the things Clinton did, yet thought many of his policies were good. I don't like many of the things that Bush has done and/or is doing, yet I like many other things about him and/or his administration. Same goes for Carter, Nixon, Kennedy [John F., not Ted - he's another story... ], and any other public or private figure. No matter how much I dislike them and/or their deals, I DO NOT DEGRADE THEM AS A PERSON IN A HATEFUL, SPITEFUL, UNKIND MANNER USING DEROGATORY TERMS AND WISH THEM TO BURN IN HADES AND WISH THEM TO DIE OR TO BE ASSASINATED. And that is what this Rall character is doing, all to the delight of some people...

Again, its NOT a matter of being right, left, center, up, or down - I don't give a rat's rear where anyone is stereotyped to be at. All that matters to me is that people (a) debate in a sensible manner what the issues are, (b) discuss in an intelligent manner what needs to be fixed to make it better, (c) discuss how to then do such, and (d) assign tasks via action plans to improve the situation. Sorry, but I don't really believe that that is whinning.

Rall is just another in a long line of hate-America liberals who is unable to rationally assess an issue while at the same time being very adept at articulating hate. These types of people are making it easier and easier to recruit people to the Republican party and to the right in general. I say hire 10 more of them--I wouldn't be surprised to see this guy serve as an advisor to Hillary Clinton when she runs for President in 2008 (and she's in for a sound thrashing!)

I've got news for you, you are a Republican whether you know it or not because that's the way you describe yourself. Liberals love to piss on things in a negative manner--just read linsky's posts as an example. If you oppose that, then by definition you are on the right (and in the right!)

Bite your tongue...over and over again until you stop saying she will run for presidency! Anyone but her.

I'll make my prediction now--I said Bush would be re-elected and I was right. I will say now (barring some huge scandal), Hillary will make a run in 2008 (I am not sure she will win the nomination--depends on who else is running at that time). If she is successful in getting the nomination, she will lose the election--doesn't matter who runs against her.
