Student arrested for terroristic threatening says incident a misunderstanding
Yet another reason the government is whacked up.

Quote:
A George Rogers Clark High School junior arrested Tuesday for making terrorist threats told LEX 18 News Thursday that the "writings" that got him arrested are being taken out of context.

Winchester police say William Poole, 18, was taken into custody Tuesday morning. Investigators say they discovered materials at Poole's home that outline possible acts of violence aimed at students, teachers, and police.

Poole told LEX 18 that the whole incident is a big misunderstanding. He claims that what his grandparents found in his journal and turned into police was a short story he wrote for English class.

"My story is based on fiction," said Poole, who faces a second-degree felony terrorist threatening charge. "It's a fake story. I made it up. I've been working on one of my short stories, (and) the short story they found was about zombies. Yes, it did say a high school. It was about a high school over ran by zombies."

Even so, police say the nature of the story makes it a felony. "Anytime you make any threat or possess matter involving a school or function it's a felony in the state of Kentucky," said Winchester Police detective Steven Caudill.

Poole disputes that he was threatening anyone.

"It didn't mention nobody who lives in Clark County, didn't mention (George Rogers Clark High School), didn't mention no principal or cops, nothing,"
said Poole. "Half the people at high school know me. They know I'm not that stupid, that crazy."

On Thursday, a judge raised Poole's bond from one to five thousand dollars after prosecutors requested it, citing the seriousness of the charge.

Poole is being held at the Clark County Detention Center.

Could it be, his grandparents know something about him we don't know yet? Something that made them take this seriously and that is why he is being held? In their haste to report, the press doesn't always get or can get all of the info. I think there may be more to this than what is in this article.

Or another reason why society is.....

After Columbine, do you really think that anyone is willing to take the risk? Everytime we launch an investigation, everytime we point fingers and say "you should have done something to prevent it" we get closer to arresting kids in creative writing classes.

I feel bad for this kid, sounds like he was smart enough to write creatively, and to not use names/places familiar to him. Hopefully they will get a grip and let him go....quickly.....

K, It is getting more dangerous each passing year to express yourself.
I have seen that people have been banned from stores for wearing t-shirts promoting peace--- young men in trouble for 'doodling' , drawing pictures, playing with rubberbands!---the list is long.Terrorists? .
The time is not far away when we will all have to be extremely careful what we say , or WRITE, that is obvious. This is not the atmosphere or the same country it was a few short years ago .
If what I read is correct ,I hope this young man gets the best defence available.
"whacked up" Govt? LOL! You got it young man! >f

One word.............Paranoia!!........ unless of course they found bomb making materials as well. The restrictions put on anything remotely resembling terrorism is putting more fear in people than the terrorists themselves. People need to get a grip there or its slowly going to become a grim place to live.

I am sure it was a misunderstanding, it happens to us all, even me. I remember once trying to asking my Mom to pass the orange juice, but it came out as "AHHHH, you ruined my life!!!!!!!"

Not bad -- I'm supposed to be debugging a database access for work...but I'm being a bit lazy about it prolly has some to do with the realization that the time has come for this company and I to part ways. It seems that I can do just about anything and blame it on my BD (we'll see)
Other than that...things are going well

And by "debugging" you mean playing PS2 and watching TV, right?
