Yeah, I posted that earlier--just shows how out of touch Bush is. Maybe the stories about his psychological problems are true---to a certain degree. Yesterday, he appeared ready to lose it when he was questioned about Brown. I just hope that someone at the top of the food chain is keeping an eye on this guy.

Arrow Article about Brown from U.S. News
Jumping Back in the Saddle--Too Soon

Ex-FEMA Administrator Michael Brown seems to be doing for his career what he did for the beleaguered agency. Less than a week after FEMA's dismal Hurricane Katrina response forced Brown out of the agency, he has been shopping his resume to headhunters and Washington PR firms. And it's not working. "He's radioactive," said one exec. An ally of Brownie in the PR world said he should have waited a month before starting his job hunt. "It's just a bad play."

Hey....he got a job!!

Portland co. hires ex-FEMA chief

07:53 AM PDT on Wednesday, April 26, 2006

Associated Press

Michael Brown, the former director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, has been hired by OnScreen Technologies Inc., a maker of compact displays for emergency first responders.

OnScreen, an 8-year-old company that relocated from Florida to Portland last fall, said Brown was hired to generate sales to government. (How fitting! )

"Browns background and expertise of successfully handling four of the most severe hurricanes in Florida's history, including more than 150 federally declared national disasters, combined with his clear understanding of the critical needs of first responders, makes him a perfect addition to the OnScreen strategic team," Charlie Baker, OnScreen's CEO and president, said in a news release. (Brown did all that eh! )

Brown signed a two-year contract calling for him to devote 50 percent to 75 percent of his time to OnScreen, helping it strategize about uses for its products and potential customers.

Brown told The Oregonian newspaper that he sees his work for OnScreen as a way to help the police and fire officials who are first to respond to disasters, manmade and natural.

"I want to help OnScreen open doors," Brown said. (Such as to the Oval Office! )

Doesn't he come around much Bassetman? We see him once in awhile over at our site, but very rarely since he retired. I'm sure being with his family is the best thing next to riding his hog.
