I know you really wouldn't wish that on anyone...it's just a passionate reply to the stupidity of someone driving drunk for 6 years...

Read about the horrific bus crash mentioned elsewhere here Phoenix...how would you feel if you were ever responsible for such a tragedy because you fearlessly drove drunk?

That was the one I mentioned earlier, Sparky.
I'd forgotten many of the precise details.......but that was truly horrific.

And read the "Destiny - Choice Not Chance" speech written by the youngest victim of the accident...10 year old Patty Nunnallee...four days before a DRUNK decided her destiny...

It's one of those things that needs to happen to really give them the picture. Like for example, there was this kid that kept stealing from Target where I worked and for a while we didn't know who it was until I spotted him stealing. When he was caught I asked him why did he keep on stealing and his reply was that he wasn't getting caught before. Despite his age, he still went to the county jail to get processed (and to scare him). To my knowledge he hasn't stole from stores that I worked with at Target.

You may think this is an entirely different thing... well yeah stealing and drunk driving is different, but the principle is the same.

going good.....tired, but good....you graduate this week? I know a few weeks back you said it was in 3 weeks, but I'm old and they say that memory is the second thing to go.....regardless, if you have already, congrats, and use it wisely. If not, pre-congrats, and give me a poke when you do graduate.....I know it's soon....

Sometimes I think Phoenix just makes these things up as he goes along for the shock value or attention seeking or something...

I was thinking that too, though some people are dumb enough to blurt out things without thinking.

I originally thought that as well, but then I stopped caring. The entire persona reminds of the guy who 'died', if you catch my drift. I think, at best, it's a prepubescent kid in amsterdam looking for attention who's been booted from here before. At worst, he's actually what he claims to be.

Either way, I've found it's easier to just bypass the entire shebang and go on.

Driving drunk is for idiots. I had a scholarship for baseball to ASU that was ended by a drunk driver, as was a professional skateboarding sponsorship. Having said that, I obviously wouldn't change anything, and you don't have to look much further than my profile pic to see why. But people that brag about it? That is a new breed of idiocy, in my book, and deserves the same type of respect I give murderers and thieves. Alcohol robbed me of many things in my life, and I've lost 3 very close friends to drunk driving over the years (one was a driver, but I still miss her, and wish she had had the common sense God gave a doughnut and had not gotten behind the wheel), and I fail to see how bragging about driving drunk makes anybody a better person. Hence my comment about the amount of respect earned for cracks like that.

Just my plugged nickel's worth, again.
