when you're drunk..you're getting behind a loaded weapon..if it goes off..it's your Arse that will fry in the hotseat...not to mention everyone else involved will pay the price for this lack of good judgement. It's so easy to take steps to not drink and drive....much easier than dealing with a disastrous life changing event. Being a victim of this...I have to think more about what my actions have to do with the general public.

Hiya Mar *hugs*

Thank you

to err is human and I for one cannot throw rocks too hard since I as well live in a glass house....it takes awareness..especially under the influence to put away the keys or hand them off to someone..an easy gesture that would save a world of heartache...It's like I tell my students about MA...think about the ramifications of ever using this fighting art..the implications are almost endless..same thing goes for driving a car while drunk.

Here's a little blurb about DUI in Turkey...................

" Drivers can be charged with DWI if the driver fails a blood alcohol or breath analyzer test. The legal limit for DWI is .05. Under Turkish Law, a driver who is convicted of driving after drinking will have to pay a substantial fine and could face imprisonment. Turkish law may also shift the burden of fault in event of an accident. Turkish insurance companies will not pay insurance proceeds to or on behalf of an insured who was intoxicated at the time of a vehicle accident. "

Some other interesting tidbits @ that link......... someone please slap me if I ever mention I want to got there.

Don't know about other states, but here in Calif. we drive too darn fast. I've had angry truck drivers tail gate me on state hwy. when I'm doing 70 mph (speed limit) in right lane; SUVs towing boats, RVs zooming past me. That with cell phone use makes me amazed that traffic deaths not higher than they are. Having a couple of beers and then zooming down the road in those driving conditions is suicidal. What makes me angry is the repeat drunk driver who kills somebody. I'm not sure tougher fines & sentences is an answer. I favor governors and monitors, such as breathalyzer test to start the car. Expensive perhaps, but a step in the right direction to keeping drunks off the road.

I will try to get more news on this, but it was announced on the news that there was an accident where a drunk driver, who also admitted that he was an illegal alien, drove up the wrong side of the interstate I-95. It was a 3 car pile up and one of the car's back driver side wheel was completely smashed off.

Henrico teen charged in fatal accident to appear in circuit court

Henrico prosecutors will argue later this month that 16 year old Sarah Haislip should face criminal charges in circuit court not juvenile and domestic court.

Circuit Court judge L.A. Harris set the date for the appeal on April 27th at 10a.m.
Haislip is charged with aggravated manslaughter and drunk driving in a fatal accident on New Years Eve that killed 29 year old Wes Taylor at the intersection of Lauderdale and Broad. (16yo drunk driving... )

A juvenile judge ruled earlier this month that Haislip's case belonged in juvenile and domestic court.

Prosecutors appealed.

If convicted of charges in circuit court the punishment could include prison time versus a lesser punishment in juvenile court.

Haislip still faces a trial in juvenile court scheduled in May.

Do your news sources also post when someone admits they are a natural born citizen?
