I would assume that when [police] asked for his id, he had none? Usually they don't (shouldn't) report anything unless it was true. The news said that the police stated he admitted he was in the country illegally.

Ya I know............ so what? It really doesn't matter if he was an illegal as far as what he did or does it? If it does, then why? If not, then why should it be mentioned? That's what I'm trying to determine.

I understand that. I think they mentioned it because the O'Rilley (sp) thing. I think they are playing on the fact that if he wasn't in the US illegally (as in stayed 'home') then the accident wouldn't occur.

Illegal immigration is a touchy subject for all.

It doesn't matter where one hangs his hat the sky is still blue. People can second guess accidents all they want but it doesn't change the fact that they happen. If the person that died didn't get out of bed that morning that accident wouldn't have happened.
