It's possible aliens exist as there are billions of billions of G stars in the universe. I shouldn't be surprised if other planets are fostering life.

Yes aliens exist...... there are so many planets in the universe atleast a few of them are bound to have conditions like earth leading to life

How do you know how many planets there are in the universe - speculation? None are 'bound' to have perfect conditions really. Earth does, and the probability of another one having the same conditions as earth is extremely low assuming a non-finite universe.

Yes. Whats your point?

Using your logic that 'there must be aliens because there are so many planets,' i can say that if there ARE aliens they MUST be in full contact with earth. Why? There are so many planets that there must be some with aliens! Some of those planets have to be advanced beyond us on the evolutionary timescale and thus some of them must be able to traverse the universe. So why dont we have contact with aliens if they exist?

The universe is pretty big, in fact for all intents and purposes its infinite, the distances between planets of solar systems where there might possibly be intelligent sentient beings that would be capable of travelling in space are many light years apart. We have only been able to let anyone else out there know where we are, with radio waves, for a very short time. My theroy is that man is too dangerous to expose to the intergalactic population, so we are in a quarantined area.

Over time humans have proven to be not very intelligent and they keep re-establishing that fact on a world wide basis daily. I'm basing my hope that something much smarter than us has to be out there. What we have explored and actually know something about is just a drop in the bucket. It is my hope that someone finds something before I turn into dust if for no other reason than to see / hear the reaction of the religious as they try to explain it away.

The universe cannot be infinite with aliens unless you believe in a creator. If infinite, that means there are an infinite number of 'alien groups' and then there is a 100% probability that we would have contact with aliens.

That or Americans are just too dumb to realize that the true pinnicle of evolution has been reached in their northern neighbors.

Interesting how a Canadian thought of this when an American proved incapable of thinking on such a high level. <-- Proof of my theory.

PS - Now that the American has been enlightened by the Canadian he will be able to grasp the concept. He might even try to pull a fast one and use the Canadian's methods to go one level deeper in thought. Just remember that he is merely 'mimicing,' something that even animals can do, the methods used by the Canadian, the true 'smartest source.'

Mulder I used the word " us " because I saw a wierd plane fly overhead on it's down-wind leg of a landing approach. It made me think you started the invasion that I am looking forward to. I can't wait for my first pay cheque of American dough and holidays be damned.

why? youre logic is faulty, number one I said for all intents and purposes, besides how long do you think it takes to go infinity miles, and why does infinite have to imply creator? We have a very long, long time before we would even be ready to face aliens, most people cant even comprehend a million years let alone millions of light years, not to mention that alien life forms may not be any thing even similar to us of what we think of a life, I'm thinking intelligent slime mold, intergalactic foot fungus, etc.

No. If the universe is infinite there must be an infinite number of planets that contain life, or big bang/evolution theory must be wrong, implying a creator (we were made but no other life forms were). If there are an infinite amount of planets that contain life, there must be planets that contain life more advanced than us, which would be able to travel through space.

Im not going to go into the infinite space thing, because it gets confusing, but if the aliens were infinitely more advanced than us, could they travel through infinite space? lol. Dumb thing to argue.

Now the only other explanation is that the aliens were too advanced for us to be able to detect them. I think its safe to rule this out because no intelligent society can control every intelligent lifeform from keeping out of contact with earth when they all have the ability - both themselves and other species with intelligence between them and humans.
