Extreme Right dishonoring solders.
Hard to believe but Baptists from Westboro in Topeka are protesting at the funerals of fallen solders because they say the solders are defending a country (USA) that accepts homosexuality. What a bunch of morons. At least there is a group that blocks these radical protesters.

"The funeral turned into a scene that has played out more than 100 times across the country, including three times in Michigan in the last month. Most of the supporters were members of the Patriot Guard, a motorcycle group with nearly 22,000 members formed in October to shield families from protesters and to honor fallen soldiers."

"The protesters: A group from the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., have picketed more than 100 funerals of military members across the country, including three in the last month in Michigan. Church members are known for their anti-gay protests.

The supporters: The Patriot Guard, a motorcycle group with nearly 22,000 members across the country, was formed in October to shield families from the protesters. Members attend funerals with the blessing of the families to honor fallen service members."

I have to say, calling them "extreme right" is libelous to the right These people are simply fanatics...just because someone's religious, doesn't automatically make them a right winger.

But...I can't believe people so religous, can be so ignorant about what they are doing. I mean...sweet jesus, these people died, have some compassion...you are religious after all.

I believe there are states now passing laws that make it illegal to protest within a certain amount of feet, yards.. They very by state..

So far, 27 states have introduced legislation to either ban or curtail funeral protests. Kentucky is one of six states to enact such laws recently. The others are Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wisconsin, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Kentucky enacts limits for funeral protests

Moore-Ons is what I call them. Solidiers are not supposed to question the right or wrong of their orders (except in very rare circumstances). I am really getting fed up with this hysteria over homosexuality and frankly both sides are at fault on this one. The right for their irrationality and the left for their attempts to make it a legal issue rather than a moral one. There is a very simple compromise. Create gay unions and give them the same legal protections as marriages but don't force a state to recognize it as a marriage. Gays and left wing activists won't be happy and neither will the anti-gays, but the rest of is will and that's the majority.

I think it is totally rediculous to think that the right or left as a whole is guilty of dishonoring the soldiers, maybe a select few air heads, but these soldiers are our loved ones and our heroes..plain and simple. Let's seperate our contempt of the actions of our own Government and the soldiers that do what they're told

And including religion in politics is just as rediculous and should not be allowed in American politics as a decision maker under any circumstance. We all know what happens when religion controls a country...it isn't good

Thanks to the Constitution

This holier than thou attitude...one step closer to the devine etc etc

what does it say to your inner self to judge other's...does it make some feel better about themselves...paint a better picture of your own existance? Put you first in line at the pearly gates? What is it that drives other's to do so? These terrorist's go to the most extreme in this case of judgement, then sentence everyone not Muslim (the so called infidels)...even other innocent Muslims within the blast range...to death...judge-jury and executioner all rolled up into one person sounds rediculous to me.

Time to go sit in my basement since my house is made of glass

I's say it's someone that doesn't protest at the funeral of a person who has given his life for your freedom (I mean "your" in the sense of the protestors, not you perosnally)

The Patriot Guard deserve a massive

It's people like them that make the US the country it is. They are good people.

How on earth can anyone protest at someone's funeral? Especially when that person died defending them, as well as homosexuals. These people are using christianity as a thin veil for hate, much in the same way as Islamonutjobs do.

May Cpl. Yates Rest In Peace.

When a religion takes off.. it develops steam...like after 9/11 on all corners of this planet....causing unrest...even some here feel the need to put religion at the forefront of Society. Till religion can calm itself down, maybe weed out the sword wielders and severe judgement types...it would actually have a strong place in the progressing society of any given Country...possibly...but not feasible

???? . The liberals have nutcases too, but these were not liberal Baptists! LOL!.
Automatic? no , but these were right-wing nutcases.
And to your second statement-- BELIEVE IT. Think about it ---"how can be people so religious--be so ignorant"---rough qoute.
I think you will find the most zealous religious , show the least compassion--they are simply too "right " and are afterall , following "his" wishes.
So....go ahead and claim them, we liberals have our own embarssments >f
