I read this comment quite often, 'I learn everyday.' So, I thought it would be interesting if you could share with us some of the stuff that you've learned recently about Computer Technology.

Reading a discussion between Valis, SpaceCowboy and Omega Shadow in 'Show us your Desktop' thread, I found out what a Patch was...

Patch (n.) Also called a service patch, a fix to a program bug. A patch is an actual piece of object code that is inserted into (patched into) an executable program. Patches typically are available as downloads over the Internet.

The tags for spoiler are used the same as the quote or img tags -- just change the word to 'spoiler'
Code:
[spioler] text to be spoiled [/spoiler]

Where do you find that tag...

Tag: (n) A command inserted in a document that specifies how the document, or a portion of the document, should be formatted. Tags are used by all format specifications that store documents as text files. This includes SGML and HTML.

It is not in the command set -- you have to type in it manually

Spoilers used to be called something else when the gov't decided something in print shouldn't be read by the general public which of course is for the good of the people. Is that what's going on here now in order to Spoiler:

Just 'select' it with yuor mouse - scroll over it while holding down the left mouse-button.

Shamou, thank you for the thread - I really haven't learned much of note in a while. Although I'd like to learn more about getting published, and protecting ideas(non-copyright-able) while sharing them. Tech stuff has become a bit blasé for me. I have 2 threads posted on those topics in Random.

To put text in a spoiler, type the opening bracket, [
then type the word 'spoiler'

then type the closing bracket, ]

then type the text that you want people not to see unless they select it with their mouse

then type the opening bracket again, [

then type the slash, /

then type the word 'spoiler'

then type the closing bracket, ]

so, what you're typing looks like(but without my misspelling - an idea I stole from Ciber):

[spoyler] text I don't want people to read until they've had a chance to solve the riddle I posed, or whatever ... and then they can come back and 'select' the text in my spoler to read it[/spoiler]
