Question Youthful Sex Offenders and Their Future Dates
Do you think this is a good idea? That youthful sex offenders should inform their date's parents they have committed a sexual offense....until the offender turns 18? I don't see why the appeal...it sounds like a good idea to me! Almost a guarantee the offenders will remain dateless though! This bad boy did something nasty to his own half-sister! Who knows who his next victim might be! I sure hope he is getting counseling!

Sex offender must warn date's parents

By BETH DeFALCO Associated Press Writer

Tuesday, May 16, 2006 10:33 p.m. ET

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- An appeals court on Tuesday ordered a teenage sex offender to warn the parents of anyone he dates about his conviction until he turns 18.

Lawyers with the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, which represented the youth, said they will appeal to the state Supreme Court.

Tuesday's decision upheld an earlier ruling. The three-judge panel said that the unusual restriction placed on the teen did not violate the state's Juvenile Code or circumvent Megan's Law.

The defendant in Tuesday's case pleaded guilty in 2004 to committing a sex act against his 6-year-old half-sister when he was 14.
As a condition of probation, the judge in the case mandated the boy to notify the parents of anyone he dates about his conviction until he is no longer a juvenile.

Several lawyers questioned how probation officers could enforce the restriction, because by doing so, they would have to define "dating."

Yes. I wouldn't want my daughter going out with him. Also, sounds like he may be a budding pedophile.

Fourteen is too young to date, IMO. Group activities are better for this age group.

Sure...If the parties are not adults...When a young lady and a young man go out together alone, unchaperoned.

Of course, I'm not a lawyer so I simplify things.

Or they'd screw it up and have the definition of date as:

The oblong edible fruit of a palm

I think this kids next 'date' should be his new cellmate, Bubba, an overly friendly bodybuilder who is also a member of a gang and has a spiderweb tatooed on his face, and finds the cute little offender to be very attractive.

Put the kid in a 'grown up' maximum security jail for a few days to serve as both a not-so-gently stretching laxative and a reminder of where such behavior will get him - the prisoners seem to have it right in this case - let the punishment fit the crime.

They got it right with Jeffery Dahmer, Hopefully they'll do the same to Mussauoi, or however you spell his name, and such 'motivation' should be applied to all future criminals.
