Maddona debuts her concert on a mirrored crucifix
Honestly, this woman is just another example of how loony the left has become with its political correctness. Does she really need to do this as an expression of her art?

Quote:
LOS ANGELES - Less than 12 hours after Madonna crucified herself on a mirrored cross, the Catholic League expressed its discontent with the concert stunt.

The controversial diva wore a crown of thorns and sang while hanging from a cross during Sunday night's opener of her "Confessions" world tour at The Forum in Inglewood.

"Knock off the Christ-bashing," Catholic League president Bill Donohue said in a statement Monday. "It's just pathetic."

Though Donohue said that Madonna "has been spicing up her act with misappropriated Christian imagery for a long time," he thought that her faith in Kabbalah might inspire new respect for religion.

"I guess you really can't teach an old pop star new tricks," he said. "Poor Madonna keeps trying to shock. But all she succeeds in doing is coming across as a boring bigot."

A message left with Madonna's spokeswoman was not immediately returned.

The "Confessions" tour continues through Sept. 4 with dates throughout North America and Europe.
This is a pathetic almost 50 year old woman trying to hold onto her youth.

Hi Mulder,

Kind of celebrities who can't swallow that one day or another the game will be over !
Sometimes I wonder if she's still remember her real name : Maria Luisa Ciccone.

Ciccone is dead, now all that is left is one of America's few women Billionaires. Mulder, her actions are not at all motivated by politics or fear of old age. They are motivated purely by profit. Any apparent political goal she appears to throw into the mix is there purely as a show.

You don't really think this material girl is on the loony left, do you? 40 years from now, when the pendulum swings in the other direction, she will be a radical reactionary.

Why?

For the same reason she now appears to you to be on the loony left - profit motive. She goes where her fans are, but makes it look like she is leading them there.

The material girl's political opinions are up for sale to the highest bidder. Or is it, "for rent"? Billion dollah - make you holla

Mulder, it had nothing to do with political corectness or any political motive for that matter, she wanted some much needed publicity and attention as people had almost forgotten her and what better way to remind people of your existance than the church. The church is very good at giving publicity, just look at how they turned 'Da Vinci Code' into a blockbuster, I can't blame Madonna for wanting a peice of the pie. And the christians behaved exaclty as Madonna wanted them to, I'm sure she's now sitting in her room jumping up and down saying, "It worked,".

Gee, and what's up with christians? These days just about anything offends them. First it was The da vinci code, then Finnish monsters winning Eurovision and now Madddona

The next thing you'll know is that they will be upset over people wearing condems to avoid STD's

Oh wait... that already happened

This is not the first of such displays for Madonna -- and if it follows past patterns, there is likely a deeper meaning that many would probably support with understanding.

If anyone should know Mulder it would be you. It's all about marketing herself and she's very, very good at it. Alice Cooper hung himself in one show and killed babies in another, Madonna plants herself on a cross and people keep on paying to see it. Brilliant I say. BTW I don't like either entertainer so don't go there.

I'd worry less about her politics and more about the mentality of those that pay to see her performances.............
