the 'good' news thread?
I'm looking at the titles (and subjects) to the threads in page 1 of CD.

Nothing but evil, filth, negativity. With the exception of shamou's What have you learned about comtech?, lin's WC 2k6, and maybe one other, it's bad stuff.

...and about half a dozen 'regulars' PM'ing me from in this forum to ignore the negativity, it seems like 'who can post the worst stuff (no names mentioned)!!!

Can a thread, in which only positive stuff gets posted, stay on page 1 or 2? I doubt it. But feel free to prove me wrong.

How deep can you dig, to find the best 'good news', instead of cut 'n' paste a link to column 1, line 1, of death/nasty/satan.com?

Doing no research, I'll start (and finish the thread) with the local positive story 'Hurricanes are winning in the Stanley Cup playoffs'. And I'm not a hockey fan, even tho' I'm 65 miles from RBC Centre, NC.

I expect this thread will last until tomorrow.

PLEASE, prove me wrong. Never mind debating any issue, just show what good you can find out about, and post here.

EDIT: 'Personal good news' is just as good as news that hits the public domain....

Is there even enough personal good news, that can compete with what 'other' gets posted here???

well, we got an invitation to come to my daughter's 5th grade award ceremony on Thursday night. It seems that she has won 2 awards for some reason, which we will find out then. I know thats "personal news"...but it was still good news nonetheless!

Today friends sold their motor home for $10,000 cash. That's good news!

And a friends son has been accepted at Princeton.

And another friends son is traveling in Europe.

How does that sound?

I got my bicycle fixed yesterday. It cost $50 to get a new tire put on, chain and lock, basket and WD-40 and steel wool to get the rust off the handle bars, and it is worth it

Okay, I said I wouldn’t re-post to sustain the ‘Positivity’ thread.

But I’ll add one more note…

Two atoms were walking down the street one day, and they saw coming toward them one of their buddy atoms. He was looking glum, downcast, and really dejected.

“Hey buddy, what’s the matter?”, one of the two atoms said to their buddy. “You been reading the CivDeb page of TSG?”

Their buddy replied, “Oh woe is me, woe is me. The end is near; this is just terrible. Yeah, I saw those threads, but that’s the good news. The bad news is that I’ve lost an electron.”

The two atoms gasped in horror. “Are you sure?”, they asked him.

“Yes, I’m positive.”

I got some good news yesterday! A friend that was very seriously ill, requiring surgery, is now in rehab and will be able to go home soon!!

Another friend, depressed over her Mother passing away a couple months ago, was visited by her favorite cousin from the midwest and had her spirits lifted.

There is good news all around us if we look for it.

First of all.....

HOW BOUT THOSE DALLAS MAVERICKS!?

Second.... I got an email from a friend I hadn't talked to in a long time. She's doing great and is going to visit here the exact same time that I'm going out to visit where she is. LOL What are the chances, eh? So we'll just miss each other, but that's OK. I hope to get back out to California maybe in the Fall or Winter anyway.

And..... it's a sunshiney day and I have the best daughter in the world and.... hurray for breathing!!!
