UK Anti-Terrorist Operation and Airport Delays
Breaking news here this morning, details are sketchy but it sounds like numerous arrests overnight and a major shift in security procedures at UK airports as a result of intelligence suggesting plots to blow up aircraft in the air. NO hand baggage is being permitted on board flights departing the UK. This will mean potentially hours of delays to flights and will likely have a knock on effect across the globe as aircraft schedules are run tight and soon the planes won't be where they're needed.

BBC story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4778575.stm

So expect delays, starting in the UK and spreading wider as the enhanced threat level continues. However, sounds at the moment like a job well done.

LOL, great now I can't even bring a carry on with me. Can't bring water, food, medical subscribtions. Well althougth I understand the security concerns, you'd have to admit that this works for the airlines. More of their [often crappy] food can be consumed.

What about those missing students? What happened to them?

They found a couple of them---(I think three or four). They are still looking for the rest.

This just proves that there are real sick people in the world. Appositely no consideration for innocent lives.

I know one thing that this is going to stop some people from flying overseas. Anyone that was scared to fly in an airplane before will now think twice before going on a plane headed for anywhere overseas.

Conn. -- In response the the British terrorist bombing plot foiled today, Connecticut Democratic Senate candidate Ned Lamont announced that his first act of business as Connecticut's new freshman senator will be to ask the U.N. to substitute its own terrorists on all international hijacking missions for Al Queda, Hamas, Hezbolla, etc.

Lamont, who was attending a "support your local terrorist" rally in Dearborn, Michigan, stated that U.N. Officials and many member nations have much greater experience and record of success in conducting terrorist missions that will better insure that "they won't screw up again." Alternatively, Lamont suggest that the U.N. could provide financial support and contribute to command and control functions, as in Lebanon and Africa. "Look, the U.N. troops were clearly successful in assisting Hezbolla to sneak 15,000 rockets in under the noses of the Lebanese people. Let's face it, they're just better at this terrorist games than our imperialist western nations", Lamont commented.

Lamont's proposal comes on the heels of two recently foiled terrorists plots -- Miami and Great Britain. According to Lamont, terrorist activies of recent vintage have become a quagmire, and the U.N. is just the sort of international organization that can "get 'er done".

Lamont's republican opponent, who was attending a business seminar in Las Vegas at the Belagio, had no immediate comment

Oh, how I do wish that were correct!

Unfortunately, in the UK we have rafts of legislation to protect "Civil Rights" and rafts more which terrorists hide behind to pretend to be someone else..............

And if all that wasn't enough for the security and police authorities to contend with, we have ridiculous acts of law aimed to creating racial harmony: which have not only created and been responsible for increased racial tension and violence, but are totally abused by neer do wells in order to conceal their identity and criminal acts.

For example, consider this:
