Unhappy Death Amounts To Murder - Terry Lloyd Verdict
http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/...546907,00.html

Oxfordshire Assistant Deputy Coroner Andrew Walker said he would write to the Director of Public Prosecutions to call for the US perpetrators to be brought to justice.

Ballistics expert Dr Thomas Warlow confirmed in the inquest that Lloyd was first hit by an Iraqi bullet fired from a mounted machine gun on the pick-up truck, which he could have survived with rapid medical treatment.

But he was then hit in the head by an American bullet as he was taken for medical treatment in a civilian minibus, which killed him outright.

Hi Auuuuuuuuuuuldi

Still around I see.

How's sunny Malta?

It was dreadful that this reporter was so sadly killed, however, he was in a warzone.

Would there have been such a witchhunt if he had been a simple squaddie?

Or is it shades (once again) of Jill Dando?

Blue on Blue has been a problem in many theatres: will any action change things?

For example, in WWII, aircraft recognition was not very good, particularly later on as more "Types" came into service. Many RAF and Fleet Air Arm aircraft were apparently shot down by their own side, particularly naval air defence.

It must be dreadful to face making a decision about such things, in split seconds and when one is in battle and scared and the adrenaline's flooding. Of course IFF changes this, as does state-of-the Art radar, today.

Just pondering......................

How goes the relief work?

That is a bunch of crap because the reporter did not have to be in that location. He was killed and that was bad, but he knew the risks .

Sounds like utter nonsense---Feel sorry for the daughter but she should let go and accept that her father chose to do his work in a war zone and died as a result.

Terry Lloyd was a distant relative of mine.
Never met him, though. But it's easy to see a resemblance.

I agree with Linsky. He should be honored for putting his life in danger in a war zone, but these things happen in war zones.
This can't even be classified as friendly fire. Only incidental fire.
And remember, he was first severely wounded by Iraqi fire, and was hit my American fire as others tried to get him to medical attention.
