Who is God anyway?
Jesus, Jehovah, God, Lord! What do you call him? Who is God anyway? I see the world falling apart all around me. Is there anything that God can do? If there is one!

Haven’t ranted in a while … but you touched upon a favorite subject.

It continues to amaze me why people either blame God or call upon God in moments of crisis. Isn’t it obvious to everyone that:

(A) Either there is no God, or he/she hasn’t been seen in thousands of years and it’s highly unlikely he/she is coming back. On vacation perhaps?
(B) The religious texts referred to as ‘the word of God’ or ‘sacred’ have been through hundreds (if not thousands) of revisions, translations, modifications and human manipulation / interpretation processes to the point where they are so far off from their original context that to make reference to them is ludicrous.
(C) There’s no proof what so ever that there is any kind of after-life.
(D) Human beings are easily brainwashed up until they’re about 10 years old and if we’re told to believe in omnipotent pink elephants as our creators – we will.
(E) The mess we’re in today was caused by man (women too) and has to be fixed by man. There will never be an act of divine intervention.

Fight the brainwashing and start thinking freely. Accept the fact that there is no God and that we are on our own to fix our own problems in both our personal lives and on the international stage. Waiting for a knight on a horse to show up and fix our problems is such a lame idea. I can’t believe people are still falling for the idea after thousands of years of proof to the contrary.

The world has moved centuries beyond the out-dated brainwashed forced-following practices of organized religion. More blood has been spilled in the name of God than any other reason.

Enough is enough. Be brave, wake up and smell reality because we’re on our own and we have choices. If you choose to: spread hatred, kill, hurt, blow people up, blow yourself up, torture or blindly follow someone else’s ancient teachings that cannot be validated – you might want to revisit your actions and belief system. If you continue doing the same things as before and hoping for better results, what do you think is going to happen? You’re just perpetuating the mistakes of the past and every act of violence or war takes decades to heal and causes nothing but problems.

Just my two cents worth,

W.

Absolutly the dumbest post I've read yet at TSG. Your dull thinking and worldly logic is the reason why the world is in such a confused stupid mess.

A guess - KidCNote and God Of Beer are the same person. KidCNote just usually likes to post blunt-force stupidity so he had to take up an alternate username to post something other than his usual drivel. By the way, Kid, that was a pretty intelligent quote that you posted under your GodOfBeer Alias(I never would have taken you for a fan of Arthur Schopenhauer - even his surname by itself seems too long for you to want to read ). Still, I don't think you're fooling anyone.

And Shozbot, it isn't "Lord", it's actually "Lloyd". Glad I could contribute.

Wow! Your humor is really improving! Have you discovered google or something? That is excellent - I congratulate you!

By the way, I'd suggest you switch avatars to something other than your driver's license photo. And I thought I took bad photos.

For a being that some think doesn't exist, God is the subject a lot of conversations! This forum is full of it. Amen!

Ouch, so many insulting replies .. yet so little substance. But, it's nothing I haven't heard before from the religious side of the house. I’m disappointed in your opinions, but I respect your opinions.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree because these flame wars go no where and the truth is that we probably have much more in common than this small area of disagreement.

So, I officially withdraw from further discussion on the subject and wish everyone a nice weekend.

FYI: I am not 'KidCNote', or even know anyone here at TSG. I just drop-in from time to time to see what’s going on, get advice, or help where I can. A search on my profile will reveal my previous postings to be few and way off the content we’ve started here.

Regards,

W.
