Following the U.S.'s exuberance in reducing it's greenhouse emissions, I imagine.
And, why put your fire out if your neighbor's smoke keeps coming your way?

But, I really doubt they can do much by 2050.
They should make it 2525.
There's a song about 2525.
Starts something like "In the year 2525, if man is still alive....'.......
They really should make it 2525.
There's already a song about it. It looks better than 2050 and it's easier to type.
