I'm not a Bush fanboy, in fact I think he is a Moron (Though who is the bigger moron, Mr Bush, or the 51% of Americans that voted him into office?).

However I do think it is a "bit" of a stretch to insinuate that he/they [the administration] actually planned for chaos in Iraq. The entire "conflict" was ill thought and has been badly managed from the get go. I do believe that Mr Bush went into Iraq with the best of intentions, despite the fact he had to bend the truth and choose to ignore good advice to pursuede the public it was a good idea.

IMO, the battlefield in the "War on Terror" was in Afghanistan, not iraq, When we invaded Afghanistan we did it with around 15'000 troops. There are more police officers on the island of Manhattan. This was a botched operation, had it been conducted with the forces required, we would have had a much better chance of finding Osama Bin Laden, I'm not saying we WOULD have caught or killed him but the chance was there and we didn't take it fully.

I disagree Chris. He didn't go into Iraq with the best of intentions. At least not for the
Iraqis nor the American military. Richard Clarke wrote about that in his book.

Sorry, the intentions were to rid Iraq of WMDS---they never existed, and their presence was debatable from the get go with many intelligence reports saying that their existence was questionable at best. These of course were ignored.

The man intended to invade Iraq--one way or another, as part of his neo-conservative program. He might not have intended that the ensuing chaos would occur, but he certainly lied about why we were going there, and had absolutely no plan in place after invasion.

Oh I agree, I am sure there were no significant amounts of WMD in the country and I'm sure there were "other" reasons why he thought the invasion was necessary. What I intended to say when I said he went there with the best intentions was the he went there thinking he was doing the right thing for his country and his cause. I don't think there was any malace aforethought. Do I agree with his actions? Hell no. But I don't think he went there intending to get us embroiled in this mess.
