Dangerous dogs !!!!!!!
With yet another death in the UK of a child i was wondering what laws other countries had to prevent these sorts of attacks.. if they can be prevented....

5 year old little girl killed by a Pit Bull terrier which is actually a banned breed in the UK...

"Pit bulls are one of four breeds banned under the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act, and anyone proved to have flouted the law could be jailed for six months."

I know it is not always the fault of the dog but how many more children will have to die as a result of dog attacks.?????

No dog should be trusted near children no matter what breed.......They can turn in a second.. i have seen my puppy a jack Russell/terrier turn from being a playful bundle into a snarling little beast over a sausage..... the cat thought she would get in first the pup had other ideas and all out Tom And Butch followed

Over you you people

i have lived in many states in the US and there are more and more states banning pitbulls as each day passes....there have been many documented cases of pitbulls killing people...

IMHO i do not believe that it is neccesarilly the dogs fault in most cases...the owners breed the dogs to be violent for protection and for fighting them in dog fights for monitary gain...

also the drug dealers breed them for protection to use against other drug dealers and the police...

i do know that i owned a pitbull and also a pitbull mix and they were both the most lovable dogs who i trusted with my daughter when she was young....i believe that it is all in the way that the animal is raised...just like a child..if you raise the child with love, tenderness and kindness then the odds of that child growing up to be a hurtfull person as an adult are far less likely...and i believe the same goes for any breed of dog...

I will kill that beast that attacks any humans. I will also add extra collar on the dog which can restrain the beastly instincts with a remote control or any wi fi system. Any one taking their pit bulls to the garden needs to put some sort of cover on their mouth before it meets anyone in the park. The owners of dog need to be fined 10000 pounds for breaking any law. if they flout the law, people need to complain to the police or start the policy of harassment. That man/women needs to be victimised in the public. shame him and strip her of dignity.

so you belive that pitbulls are so dangerous because there have been a lot of pit bull attacks in the media...pits are now put into a catagory...it is not their fault for the most part....

question:::if you were raised in a manner in which your parents treated you like chit and abused you and later in life you did something to really harm someone ....do you think that it woild be fair to you to be thrown out of society and /or killed??

there ARE no fairness in this world. Please stop using that word. I don't prefer to talk about personal life any more.. Okay. Everyone wants something from someone some way or the other. Like that dogs have become a part of human life. even humans don't understand civility then they need to be sterilized. Like that dogs needs to put way. if you want to live in the society then you need to adapt to it otherwise get lost or get killed. Laws of the jungle prevails in many parts of the world.

Some people are allergic to cats. Lets kill all cats.

An animal can cause as much harm as the owner lets it.

Yes, or neglects it.

I've got a pitball and a staffy. They are both great dogs. I feed them well, talk them for regular walks to the park. Don't let them sleep on my bed. They get fed after I eat.

It's also a respect issue.

I can't seem to stress this enough...Any Domestic animal are like children...If you love them and raise them right then they grow up to fit into society well.... if you don't then they can turn out to be a Ted Bundy of the world...

^The next question is..."Do they deserve to be killed for their actions"?

And are the actions of a Few going to determine the consequences for the Many??

Yes they do. Once they are dangerous and have attacked chances are they will do it again. The owner also should have to pay a fee or community service if it was an attack. But if it was found to be because of negligence that someone died or was injured, should be jail time.

Attacks on children by these animals are 100% the owers' fault. Common sense is all that is necessary. If tigers were legalized as pets, would someone leave them where they could get to small children? No. So, why leave a pet that could turn vicious where it is not controlled?

I do, however, believe that once a dog attacks a human, it should be destroyed. (And I believe my four kitties agree --- just in case you thought I wasn't an animal lover. )
