On Iraq.....
None of the current proposals regarding Iraq seem very promising to me. Surging more troops in seems wrong and just up and leaving real quick would probably be wrong too..

We owe it to that country to provide them with a certain degree of security until they get their internal squabbles ironed out.

I think the best thing we could do for them and our troops as well is to get all of our forces out of, and away from the urban centers.

We should deploy our troops along all of the border areas that are a source of weapons materials.

The idea is to set up temporary bases for all of the coalition troops in remote areas near border crossing areas to stem the flow of materials from Syria and Iran.

In this way we would be providing for the security of their state while leaving them alone to work out the details of how they want to go forward together.

We have to seperate our troops from the Iraqi people and let them evolve while at the same time taking the responsibility that is ours for the protection of their country untill calmer times allow us to leave the area entirely.

Well fellow, its a phony war trumped up by the neo-conservatives! It has resulted in the deaths of over 3000 Americans and the mutilation of many more. It is a war that is despised by the vast majority of rational Americans, with support only from the radical right wing fringe dwellers. Thats the truth fellow.

Oh what about the Americans's that died on 911? Trumped up also? The vast majority of Americans understand why we went to war and want it to end BUT DO NOT WANT US TO LOSE WHICH IS WHAT YOU WANT ! Your proposal is ridiculous! Let the Iraqi's handle it. Well if we pull out before the government is stable it will collapse and the terrorists will follow us right back to th USA. Iran is waiting in the wings as is Syria hoping pacifists like you will have their way... which will not happen. Look at what is happening right now... the terrorists are running for the hills as we secure Baghdad!

If they are it's only to regroup. That's the way they fight.

Yup, our new name-calling member seems to believe everything he hears on Fox. By the way, four Americans were killed today outside of Baghdad--This article sums it up when the Iraqi official says that the insurgents left the city because there was too much publicity about the surge before it began. In the next couple of days you will see lots of action---outside of Baghdad. This bunch of lunatics in Washington has no idea what they are doing.
