Question At what point does saving lifes become wrong?
In 2004 there where 153, 397 deaths from cancer in the UK. And thats just from roughly 1% of the worlds population.

If a cure for cancer was found (hypotheticaly) would it be right to announce it and use it?

Think about it, if you cure cancer one of the biggest causes of death is gone and the population will get worse quiker. This will lead to over crouding, food and other shortages, in short, suffering.

So i pose to you this question.

Discarding money, if you found a cure for all cancers what would you consider to be moraly right to do? Would you tell the world or would you keep it to yourself?

Yes, I would absolutely tell the world. I think it would be a much greater evil to have that kind of knowledge and not share it with those who really need it.

Probably everyone wouldn't be saved by a cure. There are so much other complications that come from cancers.
I don't see how population comes into it.

If someone found a cure, they would have been searching or reaching for it anyway, so how could they not want it to be accessible....
anyway, there is so much political crap involved with medicine research, the person or people that found it would be wrapped up in that...at the expense (human life) of the possible recipients....probably for years

I would tell the world.
It's likely to extend life and ease pain and suffering without adding significantly to the population, women of early child bearing age......so I doubt population growth is much of an issue.

I'd tell the world, as there is always another sickness around the corner that will be far worse than cancer at de-populating the world...such as AIDS.

Gambian president's cure for AIDS: green paste and bananas
Last updated at 16:28pm on 21st February 2007

Quote:
From the pockets of his billowing white robe, Gambia's president pulls out a plastic container, closes his eyes in prayer and rubs a green herbal paste into the ribcage of his patient.

He then orders the thin man to swallow a bitter yellow drink, followed by two bananas.

"Whatever you do there are bound to be skeptics, but I can tell you my method is foolproof," Yahya Jammeh says, surrounded by his bodyguards inside his presidential compound as he prepares to treat more patients.
Cure?

Just curious, what have liberals got to do with this? It seems like that word just gets tossed in anywhere for lack of another word.
