Pride VS UFC Poll
I like and will vote for the UFC. Too much trouble with Pride and their association with the Japanese mob.

Have you seen the new World combat league, started by Chuck Norris? It is a very exciting format of one 3 minute round where you are penalized for holding, stalling or not being aggressive enough. It is in a team format and there is one woman on each team and several weight classes for the men. I have seen a couple of times and there are some really good fighters and some not so good. I have seen a couple that are highly ranked in either Pride or UFC, that had trouble with the continuous action rules and were not used to not having any time to rest during the fight. It may get much better if it catches on.

oooo, I'm gonna like this thread

Linskyjack, is your comment a reference to the IFL (International Fight League)? If so, I gotta go with the Pitbulls, headed by Renzo Gracie. My instructor is on the team as a trainer.

Pride has had some of the MOST dynamic and entertaining fighters from around the world whereas the UFC has mainly showed American fighters. Recently the stable of fighters has been increased with CroCop stepping into the UFC where he truly does have a darn good opportunity to become a heavyweight champ. Also, Rampage Jackson.

Can you imagine Arlovski and CroCop fighting?! hehehehehe *shudder*. Who did CroCop fight at UFC 67? Some guy who was 8-0, Eddie Sanchez I think was his name. Do you truly think that guy would be 8-0 in Pride?

One word...Fedor. He is undefeated and some claim him to be the best fighter ever, but I am going to stick with Rickson Gracie. 400 wins, no losses.

Pride does have the better fighters and there is one reason why. Money. Fedor earns ~$1M per fight and several other fighters earn hundreds of thousands of dollars. The UFC paid Chuck Liddell ~$250K for his fight against Tito Ortiz. There was no prize money, but they took a share of the PPV earnings. Still, nothing compared to what Fedor makes.

I'm gonna say 1 team in the IFL, which is what...8 fighters, would beat the entire Red Sox team.

Great points. I have always liked Prides "get the hell back into fighting and don't stop till you drop attitude."

Yeah...Cro Cop is going to kick some serious *** in UFC. I really loke your point about Pride show casing "world Fighters" as opposed to the UFC american....and more recently canadian stable of fighters. I'd love to see George St. Pierre fight someone from pride.

Fedor......absolutely!

Anybody else want to mix UFC and Pride fighters to create an IFL team???

I am training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. I started training last year to be a fighter (as compared with fitness goals) and will not fight until 1.) I think I am ready, hopefully by late summer and 2.) the school, and more importantly, Renzo Gracie (as we fight under his banner, we are a satellite school) is sure I will not be a poor fighter.
