The military is a different matter. They support this country in a far better manner, protecting it from foreign threats and exercising our strength overseas. Given, it is not always right, but the military is under the civilian command. They chose to serve honorably and therefore deserve respect from all citizens of the US. Whatever your feelings on them, they will stand up for you no matter what.
Yea , at least you are white in Baltimore . Is the Wire a realistic view ?

boy talk about a topic that stirs the pot....

why is it so hard to understand the distinction between the young men and women stationed in iraq and a set of policies that sent them there....

why is it so hard to understand that it is the policies that put their lives at risk, not the fact that i disagree with those policies

why can't i support those soldiers and still disagree with the policies i believe are putting their lives needlessly at risk.....how is that a failure to support?

this is not a friggin football game, where i have to decide whether i support sending my star defensive tackle, who has a sprained ankle, out onto the field when it's first and goal and the conference championship is at stake.

Thing is when you ask the soliders they think the DEms are very irritating about wanting to limit their support.

GALLUP: 58% Want Pullout in Iraq Within 12 Months

NEW YORK A record number of Americans now say that the Iraq war was a "mistake" and less than half say the U.S. can win the war, a record low number, according to a new Gallup/USA Today poll released today. Almost 6 out of 10 Americans (58%) want troops to be withdrawn within 12 months and only 13% support sending more.

a reasonable point, and at some level, unfortunately, a fallout of the bs that is politics.....
there's no easy answer...i understand that....no answer that will make everybody feel good about the situation....

but this debate about the current situation....just like the troop deployment itself....is important to this country, imo...

sheesh, i'm sick of politics

It's not hard to understand. Some attempt to use it as a bashing tool when you don't agree with their politics. They think they can intimidate others.

This is an outsiders (Brits) view on the situation. By situation I mean that of TSGs members who regularly post in the debate sections, particularly CD.

(1) The Republican element on this board appear to have the upper hand, sort of a monopoly band of .. get the liberal buggers etc etc.

(2) The Democrats here at TSGs appear to wait in the side wings. My question to them is .. are you the silent majority? .. then if so .. for Petes sake speak up and be heard.

As for the Liberals .. are they the Greens?

Dick Weber was a cop---three strikes and you are out. Dont you have a three strike law? Actually, if you get strikes in the last three frames---you are out---and ready to bowl your next game.
