Everything to do with the Kennedys
Seems like there is a need for a thread on this family as it has peaked a bit of interest elsewhere and maybe this will remove those debates to here.

So a couple observations come to mind.

First JFK was nowhere near as popular at the time of his assassination as many think. He had a lot of flaws and as I recall he was advised to not go to Texas at the time due to the hostility towards him. His death has skewed the perception of many as to what his accomplishments were.

As to Teddy his record as a drunk who committed manslaughter and has never atoned or paid for those acts speak for themselves. It could be a thread in itself to ask how in the hell the voters of Massachusetts keep re electing him.

Then we go back to good old Joe the patriarch of the family and the shenanigans which allowed him to amass the family wealth.

It seemed appropriate given what was happening to the alpha female thread.

I may not have time to do my research tonite but there are many interesting things about the history of that family.

That says much more about the voters in Massachusetts--liberals who keep electing him because morality as we know is not high on the list of qualities for a leader of liberals.

Morality tends to be important to some of us.

That depends on the the war and the kissing--that answer is far too vague to make any sense.

I think committing manslaughter, manipulating the investigation, pretty much say it all.

if that is a twisted view of morality on my part then I am honored to be so twisted.

The Kennedy family as a whole is a nice family. It is a large family and has it's share of black sheep as a lot of families do. There is no perfect family.

Right--every family has a person's that's driven off a bridge into the water and left a young girl to die!

Anybody with an OPEN mind will have a different opinion by the time this thread is done.

And it won't be based on emotion, hatred of liberals, or jealousy of the family wealth.

But I will say that those who feel sympathy for the family need to dispel with their emotions to think things thru this. That family has had more than its share of tragedies. There is no disputing that. From the death of Joe Jr. who was supposed to be the one to go into politics to the assassinations.

When you filter out the sympathy and look at the facts the picture is far different.
