Question Gender equality 'is decades away'
Thread inspired by recent comments about feminists, AKA "feminazis".

(Yeah, you know who you are. )

The gist of what I half-heard on the radio this AM follows & is copied & pasted together from here.

"An employed woman does 15 hours a week of housework when she lives with her employed partner ; Meanwhile the men ... do only five when they co-habit."

So, men (with partners) -- are you pulling your weight, or do you plead the fifth?

And ladies, feel free to diss your lazy other half.

The only way to maintain some sense of order and discipline, particularly in a marriage, is for the male to be the dominant one. To take charge and lay down strict rules and guidlines. If these rules are not adhered to, then some form of punishment must be metered out, such as stopping ones choccies else cutting off ones conjugal rights. Rights ? LOL .. what a larf

I think men have equal rights and should do all the housework and bear children. They are your rights, so stand up for yourselves!!

Gender equality - hmmm, sounds androgynous! Can you be more specific about what you mean by gender equality bomb #21?

Just how are genders equal? If they were equal then there wouldn't be genders, obviously. I agree that women should get equal pay for equal work; have same employment, school opportunities, etc; you know, same stuff that's in the civil rights laws. And yes, women are equal to men--when those breasts & vagina don't get in the way.

I have no wish for men to be my equal .. i dont expect much ...

Just the thought of not having to replace the toilet roll on the holder as they have learnt how to do it fills me with utter dread.. i will be obsolete

Oh wait -- did your wife tell you to say that?

If they did all the housework, in what way would that be equal?

The actual thread title's from a link at the link, which covers assorted aspects of equality. I would've thought that focussing on just one area of inequality in the home would satisfy, err, specification. Maybe not.

What in the world does the amount of housework done by a respective spouse in any way measure equality? That makes absolutely no sense at all.

I vacuumed the house yesterday and decided we need a new machine even though ours is less than a year old. My wife loves me again.

That said, I believe that's womens work because they were bred for it. Kinda like guys look after the yard, vehicles and hauling out the garbage.
