Why Society?
Tao Te Ching

What do you think of this wisdom writing?

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." -- Einstein

Why are you part of society? Why do you tag along? I just notice that most of the threads here are within the limited context of our current society and are over trivial things which (perhaps) lumps us all into the stupid category.

Seventy-one
Knowing ignorance is strength.
Ignoring knowledge is sickness.
If one is sick of sickness, then one is not sick.
The sage is not sick because he is sick of sickness.
Therefore he is not sick.

Wise words

I love his writings. I had a tape almost 20 years with a narration speaker/reader of them, and am sad that the tape broke.
When I listened to the tape, it was like going into someone elses head, and in a different period of time. So to understand the gist of it, I had to shift my perspective.
I found much of the teachings soothing and mind expanding.

I think you're peril0usly close to becoming a "lifelong learner". And I don't mean that in the light that modern employment-marketing means it.

Edit: Great info though!

I agree, I just need to think about it more (and, specifically, deeper).

Interesting that David Quinn compares it to Jesus taken out of the strict context of the Bible.
