Depends on what types of files. If it is copyrighted code or songs, poems, writings, then the author has a right to be compensated for their work. File sharing these works is stealing from the author and they already make so little for their effort that paying a small fee to legally download it should not break your bank and will allow for more inovation as there is a deterent to producing works if there will be little chance of being compensated for it. Why work for nothing?? Socialists, did you get that??

There are files legally available for downloading thru bit torrent and then there is stolen property also available thru the same mechanism.
Downloading of the stolen files is the action of a thief.

I saw where Pirate Bay's user data base was hacked
Hate to be a user with my ID in the hands of thieves I didn't know
Thieves stealing the names of thieves......from thieves.........

As long as the files you are downloading are not as TooBad stated ie: copyrighted material it should be legal.

I think the user data base involved 'membership'.
I've never visited the place, so all I know about it is in the press reports.
They claim the data base was encrypted......'strongly'.
It would be good to try to follow the press reports on that if you're worried.
Not much you can do now unless a credit card was used to access their site, and that I would recommend changing if that was the case.

Ya.......cold the last several nights, here.
And the grass has started to grow again since it rained......ugh!
Haven't been on the mc for several days ..................
