America's Best Band?
There is a new Eagles commerical avertising their new CD and or tour stating they are the best American Band.

As much as I like the Eagles I doubt they are the best American Band.

Who do you think is the best American Band?

Personally I think the East St. Band. If you don't know who the East St. Band please stay out of this band....

~ Joint Melissa and Jim idea for a thread.....

Cold War Kids (but I tend to go for new cutting edge bands).

Howdy toots!

I'd consider reporting that ad under Trades Description laws if "Greatest Hits" wasn't at the top of the "best-selling albums in the United States" list.

Personally, I'd put Nirvana ahead of Jimi by the absolute shortest of artistic noses.

I can think of a few US artistes who took off over here either before or rather than over there (Nirvana, Jimi, Bill Hicks) -- but I can't think of any the other way round. Curious eh?

Do you mean the E Street Band? The great band that plays for the singer without a voice?

Forget Skynard, Allman Brothers taught them everything they know.

The Eagles are a great band and the harmonies beat even Crosby, Stills and Nash.

My personal favorite is Little Feat.

No doubt, as far as pure musical talent goes---the E Street Band led by the great genius of American music----Mr. Springsteen

Did you hone your music criticism skills on Rolling Stone LAN?

Had to google these. Still none the wiser.

I'd go for Orson, for the strength of their songwriting. Historically got to be the Beach Boys: Brian Wilson is the only songwriter with a flair for melody who deserves to be mentioned in the same breath with Paul McCartney

Saw them both on the same night a couple of years ago. Skynyrd played at 9:00 to about 25,000 of us. We've seen them 4 times....another awesome show. Allman Bros took the stage about 11:30... I'm guessing there were probably 5,000 people left when they finished. Skynyrd blew them away... no contest.
