John McCain My Christmas Story
I got this card from the John McCain campaign .Regardless if you are going to vote for him or not you have to admit it is a moving story .

My Christmas Story

As a POW, my captors would tie my arms behind my back and then loop the rope around my neck and ankles so that my head was pulled down between my knees. I was often left like that throughout the night.

One night a guard came into my cell. He put his finger to his lips signaling for me to be quiet, and then loosened my ropes to relieve my pain. The next morning, when his shift ended, the guard returned and retightened the ropes, never saying a word to me. A month or so later, on Christmas Day, I was standing in the dirt courtyard when I saw that same guard approach me. He walked up and stood silently next to me, not looking or smiling at me.

After a few moments had passed, he rather nonchalantly used his sandaled foot to draw a cross in the dirt. We stood wordlessly looking at the cross, remembering the true light of Christmas, even in the darkness of a Vietnamese prison camp. After a minute or two, he rubbed it out and walked away.

That guard was my Good Samaritan. I will never forget that man and I will never forget that moment. And I will never forget that, no matter where you are, no matter how difficult the circumstances, there will always be someone who will pick you up and carry you. May you and your family have a blessed Christmas and Happy Holidays,

Linsky must have led such a glorious life with that silver spoon stuck up his arse to be so mean spirited ALL the time.

I bet he got traumatized by Santa at the mall like Ralphie.

I am so going to watch "A Christmas Story" this year. Everyone swears its a great movie and I still have never seen it yet! Monday, they are having a 24 hour "Christmas Story" marathon on one channel...I ought to be able to see it at some point that day!

Linksy...i'll think of you when I see the part where Ralphie gets scared at the mall.

You people are incredibly slow! Why do you think McCain is telling this nice Xmas tale now? Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! What about the fact that he is making a comeback but realizes in order to have a chance, he has to cow-tow to the religious whackos who nominate Republican presidential candidates. My job is to educate you melodramatic wiggers as to the reality of human nature.

Having said that, I will vote for McCain if he should be lucky enough to fool enough of those fundamentalist fascists into thinking that he is one of them. So much for the straight talk express! By the way, Wacor's obession with my socio-economic background is fairly typical of someone lacking a good formal education. Part of the radical right wing ideology is a distrust of anyone who has an Ivy League education. Mostly, that's out of jealousy. I repeat. I come from a working class background and unlike the legacies he so admires, I earned my place among the elite!

That is a must see Valley.

Cook some popcorn and have the family sit down to watch it.

I have seen it a lot of times and never get tired of it.

It truly is a classic.

Hey there you are the one that threw the Ivy League bragging at me. So I ran with it.

You are such easy pickings.

So did you get the Ralphie treatment or why are you so grumpy?

You are left alone with a couple of the other rabids and you are failing miserably. You are so vacuous that you can't even respond to a post without making a childish attempt at a putdown!

PS. For a guy who doesn't take "dolts" seriously, you spend an awful lot of time responding to my corrections. Now go the corner and think about what I said!

Doesnt matter...it's a nice story that gives me warm fuzzies. I like warm fuzzies at Christmastime. Heh, I like warm fuzzies at ANY time. That doesnt mean that my vote can be bought with nice stories. If that were true then i'd be jumping on the "health, wealth and prosperity" bandwagon that some preachers are promising from the pulpit. As nice as they make it sound, it doesnt get me any closer to God.

But as an FYI...McCain has told this story before...he wrote about it in a book and it was quoted here in 2005: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1538054/posts

Sure, he is using it to its full potential now. Isnt that what the candidates are supposed do when they are campaigning? Would you rather he air his dirty laundry instead? Now that would be stupid!

I've been told that its a funny movie by both my father and sister, who watch it religiously every year.

Myself...I prefer watching "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" every year.
