Why do we live?
With so much bad stuff in this world, what drives the human race to continue living? What do you think it is that keeps us from taking our own lives, in a massive multi-billion person suicide?

It would be easy enough, organize that every country with nukes shoot them off all at the same time, blow up the planet.

Because the human race - as a whole - doesn't have your blatantly obvious negative view of the world.

Only cowards or deeply disturbed minds would want to commit suicide.

Go ahead and drink the Kool-aid©, but don't invite me to your party!

That must have been creepy! I remember hearing about it on the news at the time and couldn't believe that people could do that.

They were a couple that co-opted a young beautiful woman along the way. I can see her face to this day.
She opitimizes what I see as lost to that whole ugly thing ....I do hope she escaped their grasp on the way.

I hear ys, girl. I hope you're right! I've had friends commit suicide so I don't take the subject lightly. I consider it to be the last desparate act of a lost soul. Thay way lies madness.

To think to much of it brings tears to my eyes. I have no idea if her family knows about what happened to her if she did become a fatality.

The people that knew the couple well, tried, but in vain to influence the woman to stay with them. They knew the couple were wacked out of their skulls with that brainwashed nutcases (as LJ would put it) insanity.

True and we as humans are hardwired to survive. It's just instinct!

13.254 billion folks on Prozac

We all have a personal reason for continuation of life. It's those who want to end the lives of others we have to worry about.

A family friend (who himself passed away two years ago) had a sister who died there as well. Strange thing to think about. The recordings of that time are very eery.
