Are you a Pagan?
I saw a thread on here titled "Are you a Christian", so I decided to make one asking if you're a Pagan.

How many Pagans are on this site?

There used to be one posting when I first joined - can't remember his tag, but think he was an aussie - but got booted off for posting the most hilariously offensive diatribe I've seen here.

Thats depends...are you involved in witchcraft? Pagans are different than heathens. Namenotfound will explain it to you, if you'd like.

According to The Merriam-Webster Dictionary.....

Pagan: n Civilian, country dweller; Heathen

I am a civilian.... I live in a country dwelling.... I am NOT a Heathen!!! I am also not a Hillbilly!!!

Am I still a Pagan using this definition? Or just a partial Pagan that is NOT a Heathen?

actually, I believe the thread starter may have been referring to a different kind of paganism. Here is one page devoted to explaining what it is:

http://www.outofthedark.com/

It is a belief system involving goddesses & witchcraft. I think it is closely tied to the Wiccan belief system, but there are many different branches of it. Ben is Pagan and referred to a book of shadows that each Pagan owns that is supposed to be kept confidential. It contains spells, rituals, poems and things like that.

I wont give my personal opinions on it since I havent been invited to do so...but I thought i'd add the description for informative purposes. Namenotfound can correct me if I am mistaken.

Paganism is an Earth-based religion. Wicca is a form of Paganism (i.e. a Wiccan is a Pagan, but a Pagan isn't necessarily a Wiccan). There is also a balance between God and Goddess (Christians apparently don't think woman are worthy enough to be woreshipped).

That pretty much sums it up in a quick and easy explanation.

Thank you for that explanation!

I am definitely NOT a Pagan!

I have however been called a Goddess by some!
