Turner Says We'll all be cannibals in 30 years due to Global Warming
Turner on global warming interviewed on PBS this past Tuesday:

Quote:
Not doing it will be catastrophic. We'll be eight degrees hotter in ten, not ten but 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow. Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals.
This is the kind of idiotic stuff I've come to expect from liberals. What I want to know is who gives a crap what Ted Turner thinks about Global Warming? I don't understand why liberals listen to people like Barbara Streisand or Alec Baldwin or the rest of the liberal nut jobs we have in this country. If I wanted to learn how to start a broadcasting company, then I'd listen to Ted Turner. If I wanted to know how to sing, I'd listen to Barbara Streisand. If I wanted to know how to abuse one of my children and insult my wife, I'd listen to Alec Baldwin. But what in the world qualifies these people to discuss (intelligently) global warming? Why in the world is PBS interviewing this guy?

I'll tell you what, I used to have a lot of respect for PBS--some of things they've done have been outstanding, but in the past 5 to 10 years this kind of crap has seriously damaged their reputation for focusing on science and knowledge and facts and evidence. They interviewed Ted Turner for one reason and one reason alone--because they knew what he was going to say--it has absolutely no scientific value whatsoever and soils PBS's reputation, IMO.

BTW--don't intend to this to be an argument on global warming--we have threads on that--and its not even about liberal stupidity (we have a plethora of those threads)--just about why in the world anyone cares what Ted Turner thinks about the subject. Also as importantly, why a public broadcasting network funded by the public is wasting that money on interviewing Ted Turner on Global warming or the Iraq war. In case you missed it he called Al Queda terrorist "patriots"---again--used to this type of liberal thinking so that's not the issue.

What qualifies him to know what's going to happen in 30 years? Why is his opinion any better than mine or anyone else? Plus its ridiculous, but again that's not the point.

Good question.... Apparently you give a crap, no one else here seems to have mentioned it... 'cept LAN of course....

Seriously, no one with even one iota of intelligence listens to what politicians say about global warming. Science and scientists are what most people listen too...

EDIT: That is of course not to say that Turner isn't a moonbat loony. Genuinely one of the few cases where your ranting about "liberals" is valid!

Hmm... Oddly enough the only websites making any reference to this at all, belong to right wing nut jobs like Rush Limbaugh. So not putting any weight on this until I can find the original transcript and context.

So listening to Rush this morning are we Mulder?? ;D

Ted Turner's a liberal now? Did I miss a memo somewhere?

I won't get started on Global Warming either, though.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The real secret in this thread (check the tiny print, it's there) is that Mulder is a closet liberal - he watches PBS!

Hey, Mulder - do ya like fava beans with a nice Chianti? The liver is recommeded from an unimpeachable source (Bush or Cheney) - no, but he wore a leather mask!
